What I don't understand is that my brother sent me a "61 G12 ( twin front frame loop ) matchless from Cyprus in '66. I rebuilt it completely and never even heard of wet sumping. I had an A10 later in the 60's which we honeymooned on errrrrr no wet sumping. When I built my pre- unit triumph special in 1980 err well I never heard or experienced wet sumping ! I don't ever remember any of the lads at Sherburn even talking about it back in the 60's ! Seems strange to me. Thanks for the video though, great memories. But......what about my M18 project at present ? Will that wet sump ? Time will tell .
No. The AMC engines had separate barrels and heads with two camshafts like the Norton/ Triumphs. They also had an extra centre main bearing in a web in the crankcase.
