Wow, such nostalgia. My dad was an avid racing enthuisiast and remember most of the names here. I didn't attend a race until 1969, but this brings back happy memories. Thank you so much.
I was stood next to Graham hill Roy salvadori Trevor Taylor and Jim Clark who was putting on his racing shoes, when you could mingle amongst the drivers.....
5.30 - oh - 😄 what is the music playing. we used to have to skip about to that in primary school 'music and movement. it sounds like the shadows possibly whereas we had a xylophone vinyl version.
@@jonathangriffin1120 oh bless you -- that's been bothering me from time to time all of my life! ('get those knees up high - be like a tree in the wind etc,') 😆
raucous 😆 yes, it's the joe loss version! a dansette on the stage of an unheated village hall, stripped down to our vest and knickers. for it to stay in my mind i think they only had the one 45. "you're a bee going from flower to flower" that's made my week and beyond. 😄
Brilliant 60s footage. I was there the day the Chaparral 2F won, so brings back some great memories. And I like the 'Director's Cut', too. But the modern-day Elan battle at Oulton - absolutely disgusting driving by the guy in front in the Ian Walker-livery Elan! It's a historic race man, you're not fighting for the World Championship...get a grip! There would've been a coming together if the driver in the chasing car hadn't lifted a few times, I think he showed marvellous restraint and eventually put the other driver in their rightful place through skill not dirty driving...
