1960s Structo Fire Department Truck Restoration

I Purchased this 1960s Structo Fire Department Truck on eBay November of 2020. It was in overall very good shape for being 60 years old. Missing the plastic mirrors, windshield wipers and horn, the aluminum ladders and fire hose as well. Outside of the corrosion and rust, it was in great shape! I was very happy with how this little truck came out! Let me know what you think in the comments!

What a beautiful finish your powder priming and wet sanding produce. And I'd swear the silver parts are polished. The powder paint on them is just incredibly good.

Decals can be hard to get aligned. Water slide are easier to work with if you can get them for your project.

Welcome back from the deep freeze!! Thanks for the resto on the fire engine, I am partial to fire engines. Back in the days of the "five and dime" toys like this would be left where kids could get their hands on them, so the fragile parts would already be broken off even though they were brand new.

The plastic parts might be part of original equipment, but they should've been chromed. Otherwise the look is fine. (Completely understanding that it's a restoration)!

Sort of reminds me of the old Ford F900 cab over tanker truck my volunteer fire department had years ago. It was a converted milk truck and carried 500 gallons of water.

I am glad that the shop is open once again for business after those deathly cold temos. This restoration just like your other ones is phenomenal. I love the color of the fire engine. I laso love it thet it os modeled after a Ford CX-Series cabover truck. I have watched all of th restorations and I keep watching then againa nd again because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the work that you do. Another fabulous restoration! I have to say, the "chrome" powder coat you use looks really good. Definitely saves time by not having to polish the metal components, plating them, then polishing again. A lot of your restorations are easily "better than new". Though in the classic car restoration realm, they'd label them as "over restoration" because you're powder coating instead of painting. What you're doing is fantastic though, keep up the great work!

In 1984 I worked for Modern Plating Corp, They owned the old Structo plant. On the south side of the property was a three story building and on one of the floors was a chalk board with the days production goals of various models of toys. Sadly the building was not maintained and eventually the company had it torn down. It was a beautiful structure with 3" by 12" floor joist on 12" centers, diagonal laid tongue and groove flooring three layers thick. There was a freight elevator that carried product and the occasional forklift.

I feel like the car pile at the beginning is getting smaller. That means less cars to make better. That means less content. We need to find this man some rusty cars!
