I agree with other commenters, that it is awesome to see someone as young as you showing an interest in a classic vehicle, that is pretty rare these days. If you still have this truck, and still have the issue of having to come to a complete stop to put it in 1st gear, get your truck to a transmission shop. There is absolutely no reason that, that should be happening, and it can actually be quite dangerous. A couple upgrades you may be interested in are an A/C kit from "Vintage Air". they make kits for this and many other classic vehicles. Another great upgrade would be power brakes. Companies like Wilwood make kits that will bolt right into your truck. They also make disk brake conversion kits which will give you much better stopping power for that very heavy truck.
It is wonderful to see your old truck and how much you appreciate it. I drove the same model truck for my paper route when I was about your age. Now I am retired, but about 10 years ago I bought a completely original 61 C10 like yours. It dives great and looks good. No fancy additions and it has the same engine and transmission in good working order. These trucks are simple with very subtle styling features; elegant in their own way. You know what elegance is? It is simplicity carried to the extreme. These old trucks are a great example of that. Love the videos!
That's awesome I really do appreciate the old thing. It was my first vehicle and I'm really glad no one else has even heard of a 3 on tree in my class but I completely agree with you. Thank you for commenting and subscribing.
Hello, very good test, I'm from Argentina and I hope soon to have my apache. This particular model is my favorite. In my country they were made only 6-cylinder engines, and we love. regards!
Nice truck! There's probably some old dude around that can teach you how to double clutch to downshift into first. Probably no synchros in that gear. But hey, cool !!! I dig old Chevy trucks. No cheap plastic crap on that one! 8^}
Thank you sir yeah my grandfather told me what was causing that but yeah we have updated a lot since this video I am going to put a new video of me driving it. The new slave cylinder changed the truck a lot. But yes I agree with you no plastic junk on the old trucks. I know this was a crappy video but a better one will be coming soon.
