Question!! I have a 72 Super Beetle and I discovered that some of the fender weld nuts must be bad because there are some self tappers holding the fenders on. Can new weld nuts be tack welded in and not ruin the paint, which is fine! (Orange!) or I was thinking I could epoxy the new ones in place good enough to get the bolts in!?
Excellent news, love the beetle content. One thing I’d really like to understand in detail is how to set the rear torsion tubes e.g. inner / outer spline relationship if starting with everything out (or more likely if you pull it all out when trying to remove the spring plate)
I have a video on this coming out next week. If your torsions are already out and you do not have a marked starting point. It’s really just a matter of trial and error with a consistent angle finder to match up each side.
@@callahansgarage excellent, I have only done it on a bus once but have a beetle pan that I need to pull out the tubes to clean up and paint and was concerned I’d never get them back in the right place. So looking forward to that one!
