What a great truck. My grandfather had one that used to be a dually, he shortened the frame, put a pickup bed on it, and it was the plow truck for 20 years or so. I would love to get my hands back on it. I think he traded for some big welding work on another tractor. Wish I could get it back and do just what you are with this one! Bravo!
Just imagine if we built some very simple rugged vehicles like this TODAY - how light-weight and fuel-efficient they could be! I'd bet a Toyota Yaris engine in this type of application would almost be TOO much! It's what we need though, a return to simplicity. Modern vehicles are so insulated and comfortable that there's a very real danger of falling ASLEEP - I hate most cars & truck to tell the truth, I'm a motorcycle guy. However, older vehicles like THIS are hella cool IMHO. It's the visceral nature of the thing, the more open windows, the feeling that you're not inside of a soap bubble or fish-bowl, or more to the point not watching it on a huge flat-screen TV....
