I have my 1959 Farmall 140 that I bought in 1996 when we bought some land in the country, and when we moved into town years later I decided to keep it to "play" with. After overhauling the engine I got sidetracked and it sat for years, went through another move to a different town and got put in storage. So after sitting unused around 15 years total I decided it was time to come back to it. I'm no mechanic but I'm having the time of my life right now working on it. I didn't mention that recently, the tractor was stolen. I managed to get it back (minus a few parts) and decided to get it back running before handing it off to my oldest son who is drooling over it. 😊 Anyhow, I needed some emery cloth while working on the steering gears and couldn't find any in my garage so I checked with 3 different "auto parts stores" in town (not going to mention any names but you can guess) and couldn't find anyone who knew what emery cloth was. 🤣 Like I said, I'm no mechanic, but I have been around long enough (I'm retired) and am (like my dad and his dad, etc) a tool guy, but I thought anybody who worked at an auto parts store would know what that was. WOW. Where do they get these guys from?? And no one apparently carries it. We have a couple of pretty good locally owned hardware stores around that I'm sure I could have gotten it from but I just went on Amazon and had some here in a couple of days. Anyway I'm learning a lot from you on your 140 videos. Thanks
Thank you for the reply. Any O'Reilly's Auto Parts can help you find stuff, you just have to ask for the Commercial Desk (usually in the back) and talk to that parts guy. He is probably/should be the most knowledgeable one there! They do sell it too. Its just skinny strips of 320 or 500 grit sand paper. Glad my videos are helpful!
Yes and the “Internationals” were badged with that name when they were utility or industrial versions. Farmall was used on the letter series and row crop versions.
