Omg I wish everyone would demo amps this way on RU-vid. Room mic, every bit of hum, hiss and string noise left undisguised. I can tell exactly how it would sound if I was right there in the room with it. Perfect 👌

Alot of people hate on this guy in interviews but man he's such a great guy imo as well a an excellent player and just straight up down to earth kinda guy lol 👍

Take the out from the re-VERB tank and run it into the front of the amp (NORMAL Channel) ... remove most of the bass and run up the treble full, maybe up the BRIGHT switch ... you will love it. OF course, you need a couple of mod cables to make it work.

I confirm voltage: sweet spot near 108 V: they get almost silent running and bloom!

a few years ago I worked in a small guitar shop doing repairs and setups . We bought , sold and traded gear , both vintage and current . We had a '64 Vibroverb that was almost cosmetically perfect . And the tones were to die for . I love tube tremolo . I spent more than a few after hours wailing away plugged into that beast . Sadly , a guy from Richmond Va. bought it for his studio collection and life was not the same ...

Man, I don't even like sunburst finishes that much (except for cherry) but that Strat looks amazing! And of course, John makes it sound fantastic! Thanks for another awesome video.

John, you made no mention of the 64 Vibroverb reissue with the factory installed Cesar Diaz mods like what was accomplished with SRV's amp. One mod was a switchable tube or SS rectifier. The reissue (late 90's, early 2000's, maybe) where only available for a couple of years. Amazing amps. Unfortunately I forgot what speaker they put in it, but they sure sound great.

I built my own from a blackfaced ‘68 Bandmaster Reverb head, new cab, faceplate and vintage JBL d130f. It still needs a larger output transformer , but it sounds like the real thing, just not as much $$$$.

Love that FAT 15" speaker tone. This is a great example of how a 15" speaker can give you a much fuller sound than 12's. Where a 15" speaker really shines for a guitar amp is in it's versatility. In an open back cab it has a better capability to retain a fuller sound when moderately driving the signal or when you roll your guitar volume back. While 12" speakers accentuate mid's better, a 15" can compensate for this by tweeking your bass, mid & treble controls on your amp.

All time dream amp. Has that beautiful slightly grainy breakup that you dream of with a Vibroverb.

I have a late 64 Bandmaster head and cab. No reverb, but that's alright. It was given to me.

I have a headstrong 63 clone. I have some more expensive amps, but it blows them all away. I want a 64 now! And maybe a tweed vibrolux. 🤔😂 Thanks for a great video.

I used to have a 74 Vibrosonic reverb that was blackfaced and had a 15" SRO. Pretty close to a Vibroverb

Killer Verb!

Loved your amp demo and was glad to hear your settings. I'm very fortunate to have been able to find one locally even with original foot switch back in 07' and have played it ever since. It came from a dude who said he used to open up for The Ramones. He wanted $3+K, but when I played through it, it sounded terrible so I got it for $1,800. Took it to his amp tech who found a torn speaker, threw a Webber speaker in it and has been nothing but a pleasure. You may want to try a Keeley Fuzz Head and Way Huge Green Rhino with your strat some time. They work great at that vol 3 you mentioned. cheers lefty

Hey John. I saw you responded to a comment about people hating on you. I think you interview well. And you have appreciation for artists. I’ve seen video of you playing in a big ensemble and you are a pro performer. Shame on those who would bring hate your way. They be punks. Cheers!

Personally, I’d like the reverb dialed back just a tiny amount. But that sounded absolutely amazing.
