Lemmo gets the most out every guitar he demos, and we get a lesson in composition, a short history of classic rock icons and the most brilliant tone imaginable. The SG, one of Gibson's most brilliant inventions for sure. The SG Special with P-90s is heavenly.
Great to listen to Lemmo, I'm twice his age but he plays all the tunes I grew-up with and it's great to see they are still loved, some things you just can't improve upon....
They do sound amazing, but a lot of that has to do with Lemmo. I love P90s too but if you play live or with a lot of gain, it can be hard to control the pickup hum/noise.
I think p90s are better in the studio because they are just easier to mix than humbuckers, but humbuckers can be better love just because of the hum of the p90s can be a bit tricky
Looks like the "lightning bolt" stagger on that wraparound bridge was the old style, with the third position looking for a wound G string rather than a plain one. I had a Gibson Melody Maker in the early 70's with the same bridge, but, not knowing any better, I always used plain G strings, and they always intonated way sharp on me. Live 'n learn, I guess!
I love your style and that song I haven’t heard in ages I was around when it first came out. My friend used it in their practice when they were a opening band for Styx a sock hop band when I lived in Chicago before they were big 7:44
Michael, pretty please with cherry red and pelham blue flowers on top, ...please mention your signal chain when using overdrive... Thanx in advance and thanx for your always very cool plunking

The condition on that SG is ridiculous. Probably the price too. Norm's secret stash? Hash from 1964? Still potent. Norm, there are a million guutar players jealous of your guitars , and Michael's playing. Heavy duty!
Beautiful finish on that guitar. But not really doing the instrument any favors playing it with all that distortion. Awful. Any guitar can sound like that. I have one very similar - a 1965. Mine has a finish that is all cracked in a checked pattern - probably from riding in cold vans. it has the same small pickguard. Its a great guitar, but I don't play it much anymore. I've had mine since 1970. Along the way it got new tuners, bridge, nut, rewired the pots to improve grounding. Also replaced the tone caps. Pickups were originally wired out of phase, which I reversed because I like the in phase sound better. Great guitars.
