The 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar holds significant historical and numismatic value, being the first to honor President John F. Kennedy following his assassination in 1963. It features a left-facing portrait of Kennedy on the obverse, designed by Gilroy Roberts, and a heraldic eagle on the reverse, designed by Frank Gasparro. Minted in 90% silver, it marks the last of the U.S. circulating coins to contain this high silver content, making it highly sought after by collectors. The coin's introduction was met with great public enthusiasm, symbolizing both mourning and tribute to the fallen president.
