This is the story about the 1964 cabinet crisis in Malawi which resulted into the direct conflict between Minister of Education Henry Chipembere and Prime minister Kamuzu Banda.
I remember those early days of independence. It was a curious mixture of hope and fear. Many were terrified of expressing any kind of opinion. There were many individuals who would have made great local leaders, but were suppressed.
Pepani bwana tipatseni speech ya Dr Banda imene adanyoza anthu mukuwatchulawo apo bii mukutayaya nthawi, ndalama ndi cholinga cha Mulungu pa chabe. Ife tidalipo you are just younger than what you are studying thanks

Kamuzu Banda did not care about Malawians. He came to Malawi just to loot from poor people. I hope he is rotting in hell for whatever he did to Malawians.
