Where do find all these guitars? I just don't understand how you are constantly getting these incredible guitars in. And how you afford to buy them all
Beautiful'64 Strat Eddie!!! Mandolin Brother's do incredible fretwork!!! Originally, a Staten Island guy here. Congratulations on such a beautiful Stratocaster collection!!! Rock on brother!!!
The Awperator Rosewood boards that have been played heavily for decades develop this polished waxy layer that darkens and smooths the appearance. It can look a lot like ebony until you get really close up. I've got a 62 Les Paul JR that's been barely played - the Brazilian board is still a nice mid brown and you can see the grain. My Strat, which a lot like the guitar in this video has a mix of 63 and 64 parts (all original), has been played A LOT and has a very dark sheen to the board. I once had a 63 Tele refretted, and in the process the fretboard was planed. When the top layer of waxy dark heavily played rosewood was removed it revealed a much lighter shade (more characteristic of what you see in stores on new guitars). What I'm getting at is that it's not like these old Brazilian boards were super dark and tight, its years upon years of playing and neglect that makes them like this.
