I have a 65 Impala with a factory 409 engine . I’ve had it for 47 years. All my research with different sources I always come up with around 678 Impalas with the 409 engine. NO WHERE I have found 2800 Impala’s with the 409 .. As a matter of fact that’s the highest number of 409 Impalas . I’m going to stick with the under 700 409 Impalas. Thanks
My first car bought in 1970 as a 16-year old was a ‘65 Impala Super Sport. Mine was burgundy with only a 283 2-barrel and the PowerGlide transmission. Had the white interior and console though. Paid $450 for it!
My dad had a 65 SS with the 365 horse 327 , it was blue with white interior and that 327 punched above its weight class shutting down many big blocks and sounding beautiful while doing it. The only problem was he sold it when I was about 15 1/2 , he said mom made him
Holy 🦇 batcave and Wayne manor, gourgeus car absolutly awsome wow wow thanks Jay grams president of volo auto museum and russel for perfect photografy from tom your friend now and always 😊😊😊😊
Everyone can argue about what big block was the best performer but you have to admit the 409 was the best looking with those scalloped heads it’s just beautiful, to the point you hate to close the hood 🙂
I had a 65 Impala (not a SS) 327/4 speed. Went through a bunch of motor mounts. Also when down shifting had to go 4-3-2. If I went from 4 directly to 2 the linkage would hang up.
I have a 65 SS with high output 396.. mines automatic, white interior also but with rarer burgundy paint. Mines a restomod though with ride tec coil over suspension..
Mines is similar color pull me over red mixed with a fire hydrant red - a 396 big block matching numbers 4 speed w a flow master … no lie mines sounds meaner 🤙🏽
Bought a 1965 Impala in 1969 Raced it on the road and the track. 327 engine blew in 1970 on the way back frpm my honeymoon . Nursed it home with gallons of oil and put a junkyard 283 in it for the rest of its life Sad!
THE 65 IMPALA DESIGN WAS A KNOCKOUT, ESPECIALLY THE SUPER SPORT MODELS WITH THE CONSOLE AND BUCKET SEATS. FORD MODELS OF THAT YEAR WERE NOT AS NICE AS THE CHEVROLETS

What's the point to talk when you driving a car like this. Their motor has much more to say to boost the sale! Ok guys, we're driving, ok we're turning, omg, just look at this - cut it out please. People who shop for cars like this don't need this talk. When you pushin' a Camry or Hondas yeah, go crazy and talk the shit out them. Don't get this a wrong way tho but seriously.
