Nice ! I had an Epiphone Galaxy 25. It was fantastic. Equipped with tube reverb❤️🔥 i gave it to my son Seamus, along with a Casino, and a Bad Monkey stomp box. ✌️
I had the same exact unit. I guess it was the same year because it was original. Someone gave it to me. It was a little bit beat up and I wound up selling it and got 600 bucks for it.
Hey thanks. The neck and middle PU combo never made any sense to me, and I use that neck and bridge a lot. Who uses neck and middle? The outsides get you close to a Jazzmaster sound, which was the key to the Ventures.
I use neck and middle all the time. Especially for that little wing srv/Hendrix tone. But I Will say that the two outside pickups is my absolute fav combination. Great for jazzmaster like sounds and certain gilmour tones with a compressor
Update: I settled on what is probably the easiest way to get the neck+bridge sound, which is to pull of your pickguard and swap the neck and middle pickups in their holes. No messing with any wiring at all, just move the pickups. The switch controls become less intuitive but you trade the bridge+middle sound for bridge+neck, which is much prettier!
Thank you. I played the Ventures version of Walk Don't Run which was a big hit for a guitar instrumental released in late 1960, a song written by jazz guitarist Johnny Smith, although the Ventures covered it after hearing Chet Atkins' version of it. Johnny was grateful to Chet because he had injured his hand and the royalties sustained him when he recovered. There were other versions. I also played a snippet of Sky King by Danny Gatton.
