@@richardsmith-qy6vl the more I drive Down n Dirty the more I love it!! I’m looking for a back seat frame. Then I’ll probably do a basic black interior on it. We will see. I’m kicking around the idea of driving it in the power tour west this year. Possibly…… but…. At least if everything goes well I should at least have three cars at the Duct Tape drags this September. Thank you for watching and commenting!!
@@tackettshoh You live in Arizona with 100 + degree temperatures and you want a black interior?🤨 I don't get it, tan would match what the exterior looks like now and you wouldn't burn your bum or legs as bad with a lighter interior. Besides, isn't that going to be Sarah's race car and shouldn't you ask her what color she wants the interior to be? Maybe she'll want pink🎫 seat covers with sky blue 🔵 door panels like Dan's girl wanted the 57 Chevy he built for her on D&D Speed Shop channel.🤢 Not what I would pick but maybe Sarah would like something like that?🤔🤷😁😎👍
Great job Steve, I watched you put that rear in yourself and Im tryin to put my S10 posi rear in my 63 also. Its such a PITA doing it alone! Car looks great! Keep up the great videos man
@@MikeStuart-p7p thanks Mike. I agree. Plus they were in my shed soooooo🤷♂️ now I need to find a set for the front! I’m watching marketplace like a hawk!
Brand new used, ready to ride. A 3.55:1 gear is a fun ratio on the street in a light little Nova. That's the ratio I had in my '75 Nova 38 years ago.😳 Can't hardly believe it was that long ago, remember it like it was last week. Anyway, it had a warmed over 355 with a th350 with shift kit. Was a good running mid 12 second daily driver, really fun car to drive wouldn't mind having another one. Back then the aftermarket wasn't what it is today. It had warmed over double hump heads and an old school Comp cam that had if I recall correctly .480"/.480" 234°/234° at .050" on 110° LSA. Topped off with an Edelbrock aluminum dual plane I think that was before the high rise version definitely before the RPM Airgap. I think it had a 650 Holley, the good old days.😎👍
@@itseithergonnaworkoritaint7852 a 12 sec daily driver is plenty of fun! Especially on the street stop light to stop light. I think this 406 will make plenty of torque to overcome it. Plus the car is light.
Sounds like a good stout combination.. I ran 3:55 gear in a 68 chevelle with a mild 448hp 454 and it was a blast as well, also 30yrs ago..lol Time flies for sure.. With a th-400/3:55 the highway wasn’t much fun. It Needed a GearVendors Od or a 4L80. Great gear around town tho, she’d bark both tires on the 2-3 shift into drive at 60+every time. The 1-2 shift was out of control lol 😂Loved every min of it!
Looking great.. I grew up in Tucson AZ Cruising on Speedway. My car was a 1962 Chevy II Nova that I replace the 194 6 with a 283. Used to Race on Friday nights at the original Tucson Dragway. Won a huge Trophy for my class but was a sad night as local a local Junior Pro Stock racer lost his life that night in a race against Kevin Rotty another Tucson Drag Racing Legend. Love those Chevy II’s. I have a smaller RU-vid channel called GasserDave Garage, stop over sometime!
@@gasserdavegarage I love Tucson Dragway. I’m down that way pretty often. That sucks about that crash. You never want to hear that. I love first gen novas and chevelles!! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Car guy math applies to all kinds of scenarios... let's say you buy an entre at dinner for your kids aaaaand they only eat half. That's a "free" meal. I use that math all the time 👍
Great video Tack, you can wrestle a rearend like a boss, and do car guy arithmetic, I'm that dude who did the one tire frier burnouts on the 10 bolt, Lol. Do the duct tape drags have classes or is it a bracket race?
@@michaelmaher4328 lol. Spider gears are not your friend!!! The Duct Tape drags is kinda just an open track. Heads up racing. Until Sunday. Then you drive your car up to Freiburger and he puts you in two or three groups. Those groups run round after round until there is one winner in each group. They get a trophy. That’s it. It’s for fun. Nothin serious.
