My god this is amazing! If only I could come up with a time machine. Cant wait to get home so I can watch your longer video. We need more of this stuff. Good memories!
Wow, thanks do much for putting this up. My Dad (born in '58) talked about watching Oliver demonstrations at the Iowa State Fair. It's possible he was at that one with my grandparents. The fairgrounds is only a bit over a mile east of the Des Moines branch house, which was across the street from Hale Implement, Des Moines' Oliver dealer. Pretty short drive for that equipment!
Wow was that fun. In many years my father would have been at the Iowa State Fair representing Oliver. However, by 1965 he had transferred to Chicago Corporate Office and was working on acquiring small Oliver branded tractors from Fiat and others. D G Morrell
I remember when that happened. My dad, (Robert W. Bird) being a lawyer and married to an Italian war bride was in the thick of it. He still did a lot with the Growing 'O's, and the President's Honor Council (PHC) dealer appreciation trips. Plus he represented Oliver for the 4H dairy project. Your dad probably worked with him alot. And with his Uncle George in Charles City (plant manager)!
Interesting. I have 2 friends that I work with that both have Olivers, and still farm with them. One actually has Whites, but very unusual none the less. I will be doing a video of each for my channel this fall (hopefully). They are becoming rare. I missed the WMT/WHO Tractorcade in Iowa this year. There are always some really nice ones in attendance for that. Thanks for sharing this.
@@mjbirdClavdivs , I can't say for sure. I'm sure there's other clues in this that tell more. Car models, other Oliver equipment. I've watched them couple times now, just taking it all in.
