1966 Can Am Stardust part 1 

Some genuine giants in those wonderful sounding cars.

Yep - you could see international stars such as McLaren, Gurney, Amon, Hulme, G.Hill, Surtees etc at Non-F1 races in North America. In those days drivers had to work every weekend to earn a decent living and as there were only something like 8 or 9 F1 races per year, many F1 stars would be driving in other series. Sadly nowadays, its really rare to see a driver appear in more than one racing series,

Awesome. I was 8 years old and these cars and drivers were my favourites. Man, I never knew the wing on the Chapparal was adjustable. ( see 2:04 - 2:06) Still gives me goose bumps.

The Stardust Raceway is now the upscale, and gated, housing development known as "Spanish Trail" between Hacienda and Tropicana Avenues in Las Vegas . . . well, actually it is located in the unincorporated township of _Spring Valley_ Nevada in Clark County.

The old Can-Am was the best.
