Hey viewers! Thanks for watching the restoration of this 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado V8 restoration. This was Americas first production front wheel drive automobile as the predecessor of the Cord 810/812 that was built back in the late 1930s but was not a production car. Factory red metallic paint with a red on red interior. The vehicle is sporting a Oldsmobile Rocket 425ci V8 with GM Turbo - Hydromatic automatic transmission with about 385hp. The vehicle was famous for its trans axle front wheel drive, unique styling points, and its 7 shock absorbers. One of my favorite things about this car is the the unique built in floor liner tray. I believe this project is the longest project we have undertaken at our facility and was a on & off project for about 10 years. Please like and subscribe to our channel!

Cord built the L-29 fwd American car from 1929 to roughly 1932, with ~4400 cars produced... Definitely the first production American FWD car built in mass production.

Oh and the members of the Toronado Owners Association and Toronado/Aurora Chapter of Oldsmobile Club of America would disagree with you that this is “not a desirable car!” Difficult as hell to restore for sure, but well worth the work!
