What a fantastic video!!! From start to finish. I Really enjoyed this one, and you’re correct, GTO’s and Grand National’s were the cars of dreams. Thanks Kevin for profiling this car and driver. Great build Robbie!!!
My dream car of all time is the ´66 GTO, so I definitely enjoyed the video. However, I drove a ´73 MGB Roadster for many, many years. The goat is a classic muscle car. The MGB is strictly a classic. Both offer a driver experience, but each are different.
Doc, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to allow "ordinary" people who love cars an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. Thanks for sharing too about your love for our little English cars.
What a great video and truly the most iconic car every boy (and girl) wanted. Kevin I love your channel and how you put the human story behind the car.
awesome video and awesome car. thanks for showing and sharing! Pontiac in its heydays made some iconic musclecars. Grand Prix Bonneville Catalina Firebird/Trans Am and of course, the drum rolls.... GTO!!!
Monoy, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos are not to be "how to" videos (I think there are amazing videos made by others far qualified than me) instead my focus is to create a platform where "ordinary" people who love cars get an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. Great ideas. Kevin
Yes.. it does have the 66 with the 67 grill. I also wanted to take a moment to personally thank for taking the time to watching my videos, leaving a comment and for subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention when creating these videos is to showcase not only the beautiful car but give the owner an opportunity to share their story, love and passion for their car. Thanks again Kevin.
He's free to change anything on his GTO that he wishes... that being said, my '66 Tempest is closer to a factory GTO than this restomod. I specifically built a Tempest because I didn't want to modify a GTO as I consider them to be a piece of automotive history.
Elebeu, I would agree. The owner of the car truly does have the ability to change and modify to what pleases them. I also wanted to take a moment to personally thank for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. As you may have seen in my videos that my intention is to showcase not only the beautiful car and really give the owner of the car (the caretaker as Jay Leno rightly says) the opportunity to share their story, love and passion for their car. Thanks again Kevin.
Baby, lol.. yes there were some interesting things done.
Scott, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to allow "ordinary" people who love cars an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. The answer is that the owner preferred the look of the 67 front end as opposed to the 66… still though.. a true beast of a car.
Nice black paint wheels also look good .the front nose is from a 67 gto. It looks good but its not the original grill moldings etc .the dash board instruments are cool but also not the original it looks good but im more into wood around the speedometer and the original clock gives it a unique touch. The seats are really good upgrade .original are not comfortable and don't even have headrest . The exhaust sound amaizing that ls3 is beast mode. Unique angryGTO
Mr. Charly, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to allow ´ordinary people’ like you and I who love cars an opportunity to speak about their love of their car and why that car means so much to them. After all we are all the ´caretakers’ of our cars (as Jay Leno rightly says). The car is certainly a beast and has some elements from other years to make her look unique and God that engine sound is so intoxicating.
Ron, first of all thank you so much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. You are indeed a lucky man. The car was such an iconic car back in the day that even today this car is always a benchmark for others to compare to.
I wonder if the 67 grille was a miatake or intentional. Since he mentioned a "frame off restoration" im surprised such a mistake was made and which is why I'm thinking it was intentional.
Kayak, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to allow "ordinary" people who love cars an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. The grill was not exactly intentional from what I understand but it looked like a better fit to the owner and gave it that slightly different look.
Chris, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to showcase the car and also allow the owner of the car (the caretaker as Jay Leno rightly says) the opportunity to share their story, love and passion for their car. Can you clarify your question about the rims?
Thank you Andy for watching my videos. The car was a resto of and perhaps used a different front end. I will share your comments about it being potentially a 67 with the owner.
Timothy.. first of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel. Your question is great. The owner responded back to me and said.. “Just two small grills and chrome piece looks much better than 66” !
Whoever told you that GTO’s didn’t come black lied to you, my dad had a factory black 66 GTO with red interior, build sheet and window stickers proved that, and also that front header panel and grill is a 67, I suggest you put the 66 back it, looks way better, also you don’t have the factory style bucket seats, im sure a lot of this car has been ruined by this guy, I’d love to see the vin probably ain’t a real 242 GTO probably a clone
Aaron, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to allow "ordinary" people who love cars an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. After all we are all the "caretakers"of our cars (as Jay Leno rightly says). Thank you for that insight. You are correct the 66 that was in the video is certainly an amalgamation of parts.
Joel, that is a great question.. I don’t know off hand but hopefully someone will. Also, I would like to thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos are not to be "how to" videos (I think there are amazing videos made by others far qualified than me) instead my focus is to create a platform where "ordinary" people who love cars get an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. Kevin
Hi David it is a 67 Front Grill I liked it much better than the plain looking 66 Grill adds a touch of flair. The 66 body sude panels and rear as well more defunded coke bottle shape I like more than the 67. Glad you have both enjoy them sir 👍
David.. yes it is a conglomeration of 66 and 67 in some ways.

My intention for the videos is to allow "ordinary" people who love cars an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. Oh yes... We do have some awesome cars right here in Ontario 😊

My intention for the videos are not to be "how to" videos (I think there are amazing videos made by others far qualified than me) instead my focus is to create a platform where "ordinary" people who love cars get an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. I guess the owner felt the car looked better with that grill.
Fury you are correct.. it is a little bit of a restomod car for sure.
@@ClassicCarChitChat Well you did a Great Job on that machine, the 66-67 were the pinnacle years for the GTO as far as Im concerned. Keep up the Great Work!
Another CLASSIC car RUINED by "resto-mod!" This is no longer a 1966 GTO. It's a new car with a new engine, new wheels, new interior....the only thing this car has to do with 1966 is the outside sheet metal.
Ken, thanks for your comments. I guess the owner felt it was the right thing to do.
