Best year Vette ever made as far as I'm concerned. In 1967 I was 17 and bar hopped Chevy dealerships, I was fortunate to see, own some and drive and race all the best. I have a .060" over 454 BBC and it has the 427 Tri Power Solid Lifter Cam, the 427 Tri Power idle is distinct. Although I never crossed paths with a heater delete car the most desirable cars were radio delete, carpet delete, etc. with Dog Dish hubcaps, no frills.

1988, a former friend sold one of these cars to a Chevy Dealer owner in PA from FL. He even agreed to deliver it. Before he delivered it, he restamped a 402 BBC engine with the 427 engine ID number and put that in the car. As I stated, "former friend." Last I heard, he died in prison.

Thanks for sharing. There are some scammers out there. It's always best to buy from a reputable dealer. We rarely buy cars sight unseen, and work very hard to match up numbers with documentation and describe our cars as accurately as possible.

@@fastlanestl The jerk seller did a good job restamping the engine number so it matched. The 402 BBC engine was gutless slow, though. The original 427 engine wasn't though. It ended up in a 1965 or 1966 El Camino. Not sure which year.
