Now that the bed is repaired, I'm moving on to the work on the cab. Overall it's not too bad, but there are some sections on the drivers side floorpan and rear wall that need replacement.
In this video I do a walk-around of the cab an highlight the overall condition and areas I plan to address.

Looks better than any of mine! That battery box vent through the floor brace really causes some rust issues!

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised at the overall condition. That battery box location is almost a guaranteed replacement zone though, LOL. I'll tell ya though, getting out the rear support braces is a giant PITA!

@@MountainLaurelMetalworks The rust helped me remove mine!

LOL, To be honest, I'd probably be ok with that! The next video was supposed to be about replacing the floor pan sections, but it is quickly turning into 'how to remove the internal supports'!!!

Are you talking about the rear corners? Both of mine need replacement. I was going to fabricate them but sometimes it's actually cheaper t buy. Where are you getting them from?

Looking good! I’m a proud new owner of 1967 M715. I noticed the underside of the rockers have early stages of rot as well as some other undercarriage areas beneath the cab. Would you recommend replacing the entire floorboard? The interior of the cab looks great, it’s underneath that concerns me.

Thank you for subscribing and commenting. Without seeing the extent of the rust it's really hard to say. Also, it would depend on your intent. Mine is a woods toy so repairs for me are only structural in nature, but if you are doing a restoration, that's an entirely other concern. I am lucky enough that I actually have very little rust overall and it's in locations relatively easy to repair. It looks worse in the videos but in reality it's only the rear portion of the floorboard, so that's what I'm replacing. My next few videos on the repair are focusing on that replacement, so maybe that will help some with your decision. I can tell you this, if you have a significant amount of rust throughout the entire floorboard, it is generally easier to replace large sections at once instead of repairing every hole individually. Sometimes this may require taking out good metal between areas needing repair but it can be quicker and easier. Rocker replacements by the amateur (myself included here) are rather complex due to the multiple points they are welded to, the multiple angles, curves, etc and the fact that rockers are somewhat structural in nature as they tie the A and B pillars together at the floorboard. If you can get ready made rockers you just weld in, then go for it! I have never created a rocker 'by hand' so I can't say if it's viable by the amateur or not. If there are sections I could get to but aren't visible I would definitely patch it to the best of my ability. I hope this helps, but if you still have more questions, post away! I love hearing from viewers and discussing these things.

Thanks for taking the time to reply and go into such detail. It will be going to the body shop in the coming weeks. I’m hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. Great videos and I really enjoy watching! Thanks! Chris
