An old, faded silent home movie of a parade (and after shots) in McKeesport, Pa with some additional local footage of possibly Pittsburg Steel? If not correct us please, We aren't from the area and are only film scanning folks.
@ThePumpdog99 yes as well asmy aunt. my grandfather passed when I was 4/5 years old. my uncle found this video and called my aunt and dad. they thought he was holding a bottle of pop but it's actually a camera. my grandfather NEVER fixed his tie he didn't care, my aunt always fixed it for him.
Great time capsule during my high school years (I'm seen at 6:12). Brought back memories of 5th Avenue in McKeesport, when the city was still viable. Sad to say, it's now a shadow of its former self, much like other mill communities along the Monongahela River. Too dependent on one major industry.
@@ronaldckrausejr7762 Cant adapt when theres not enough good work, you have to pack up and move to where work is. Problem is these people got comfortable in these areas and stayed after work left"Cause its their home" and their off spring have no good opportunities and turn to drugs and shit. Smart ones move out and go to locations with good paying jobs.
The 1960's saw the move of stores to "suburbia" (Many McKeesport shops went to the now gone "Eastland Mall") the 1976 fire and the late '70s,Early '80s decline of the American steel industry "Nuked" McKeesport. "Section 8" housing became the DEFAULT in the "Tube City" by the 1980's the result is, well what it is.
