I had one just like this in high school in the 70s. Turquoise with black interior. 390 engine. I can still remember burning the hell outa my back in the summer from that metal emblem embedded in the center of the seat back rest.
It needs to he flip away Head lights. Bet it wouldn’t take much to add them. Love the Galaxies. I Drove a Convertible 68, 390x6 pack for ten years every day ! Loved those carbs ! Great Dependable car !
My dad had this exact car, same exact color with a 302 paid $1600 with 18K miles on it, and I had a 1970 black Challenger with a 383 magnum paid $1800 with 23K miles on it back in the early 70's. The good old days when they built really solid beautiful classic cars, unlike all the plastic junk they build today and they want me to pay the price of our house we bought back in the 70's of $42K, That's 2500% increase in price of a car. The 42K house we bought back in the 70's is now worth over $1 million and that's about 2500% increase in price of the house. My wages went from $5 hour in the 70's to $25 hour now and that's only 500% increase in my wages....any wonder why everyone is buried in debt up to their eyeballs just to get by. And the crooks at the FED say there is no inflation, so we're gonna lower rates to bury people more in to debt.
Man, that sounds hella-nice! I had a similar car; Medowlark Yellow, Black vinyl/cloth, 390, LTD, Coupe, with the hideaway headlights. Its interesting how 'different' yet 'similar' these cars could be trimmed-out, in '68.
@@SgtAl I used to be stationed out there in Alameda/Oakland in '82 '83 never once heard it. I get it, I'm (not imma) a "okay boomer" but it just sounds so incredibly stupid. Trying way to hard (as George Costanza would say) to be hip & cool & edgy 🤣🤣🤣
+Dustin Tobler Yea the plastic is a bit old old school . But the guy had it put on back in 68 when he ordered the car. The seats are incredible shape because of the plastic.I will say I can live with the plastic on the seats . But the plastic the car had on the door panels was a bit much! that just had to go. Thanks for looking Dustin.
The 1969 fastback I had was a police car, they used it as a trial car to see if the State of Ind. wanted it as a chase car. Only made 100 of the it had the 429 in it with poss rear end hell on tries, great shape got to in 1971, my first newer car. Bad part only got 3 miles to the gal. I think it had a 25, or 30 gal. tank, so even at 35cents a gal, lot of money for me. Was so upset when I went into the Marines when I got home my Dad had sold it, I guess they thought I was not coming home. I did not even get the money. My Dad got himself a old truck
My understanding there was a company in Minnesota that you could have these plastic seat covers put on they were put on when the car was new I do not believe that company still in business but I also remember as a kid my father had a Oldsmobile with the same plastic protective seat covers just like Grandma's couch lol
+Tom Gacek TOM, the best I can do is give what info I have on my receipt. the wheels are 15x7 and the tire size are 225/70R-125 I hope that helped . And thanks for the nice comment.
Jamie Smith Thanks Jamie! Where did you buy them if you don't mind me asking? Did they come with the caps? Maybe you have a part # or SKU from the receipt that I can follow to get the exact offset online? The 225/70R-125.... not sure what 125 means.. should be 15 I believe?
Hi my friend I am currently at the Jimmy Buffett concert at Alpine Valley in East Troy Wisconsin I just checked my messages and I see you're inquiring about the wheels I will get back to you tomorrow on that my mechanic order those for me and if I got 125 in there I don't think that might be right are you putting them on a Galaxie 500 as well if so send me a pic would you even if its not on the Galaxy I like to see what people got out there I am using voice recognition so if I have some words spelt wrong please understand I will get back to you tomorrow either way look forward to talking to you
Yes I am putting them on a 68 Galaxie XL Fastback as well (Red). I restored it completely, every bolt was off of the car and all put back together over the past two years. Would love to send you some pics, what is your email address or fb?
