I'm not into muscle cars at all, but I seriously love this car. When I can tell a car has been obsessively and passionately assembled, it almost makes me become as equally obsessed and passionate about it as crazy as that is haha
Thank you so much, A true enthusiast into the car hobby can’t help themselves lol that is why I got into the import Honda thing though I am a still a Muscle Car guy :D
Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⚓ my first car in 1980 was a 68 SS/RS 396 Muncie 4-speed with a 12-bolt posi and 4:10 gears. 1800 bucks, boy I wish I still had that car today. I absolutely love what you did with yours, he looks absolutely fantastic!
My brother bought the SS 350 in same color when stationed at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio, came with dog dish caps and red line Firestone wide oval tires.
That running after you shut it down is called Dieseling. My 68 did that sometimes. It's usually a timing and carb tuning issue. Doesn't help if there's a lot of compression either.
If it was that early and built as an SS originally, then those hood inserts would be correct. Early cars didn’t get ice tray inserts. Though that again is Camaro build folklore.
Sept 1967 build date NCRS date first week October 1967 definitely early car :D even the original 1968 dealer brochure shows the vent hood for the small block
327 cars were never ss. Do your homework. The black rear panel also was big block only. Still a sweet color. I had the 68 firebird same v code paint in Pontiac is was the same color but called night shade green. Day 2 look is just fine.
That is what the car is. It is a day 2 car done with original parts. It is not an SS nor is it badge as such. It has an original super sports hood that is correct for the year and date code. The black out light panel is something that many owners and dealers did as it was quite popular. I have a set of original 70s Crager SS wheels on the car now I also have rally wheels and these 1967 original Torq thrust. The car is more real and has more real parts than many “highend” restored cars.
this car will depreciate when pizza ship electric cars are practical. Lionel train ran on electric power from a transformer battery powered electric trains went in the garbage
Not for me, I did not build it for resale it was never about money. This car is for ME!! And I’m not worried about elc cars I will be long dead when they are efficient and the norm.
