As PFA Chairman he got rid of the maximum wage allowing players or their agents to negotiate their wages rather than under the table. Managed Coventry City & made them a credible First Div club that gave entertaining football & knew his football as a compere than having Linekar pontificating on migrants like he has to live with them.
These mstches started before 15:00 as it was still fairly bright at the final whistles. I presume that this may have been because the floodlights at the respective venues were not bright enough for the cameras.
Love that fleeting look on Terry Venables’ face when Jimmy Hill called him handsome! As if to say, “ouch, I’ll get some stick for that from my teammates. You’re not wrong though…” 😀
Quite enjoyed that John Camkin commentary (I think he's called). Not quite as good as good old Mooroe. I've noticed a few flaws with his comments about when QPR got their equaliser and said 'their roar is louder than when they've scored.' Should imagine it will be when they're at home!
QPR's Frank Clarke was from the famous Clarke family who had 5 brothers who all played in the League with Alan the most famous. They all ran the distinctive 'Clarke' way. Jaunty is the word.
The rattles started in WW1 for warning gas attacks in the trenches & obviously with a few million of them to get rid of end of play some enterprising Del Boy thought hmmm.. 🤔💭.. FOOTBALL!! Probably given free with the Dandy & Beano too.
