What a treat to hear the Gigue played so evenly and with such consistency! Takes a lot of attention to technique. Brava

Yes!! Gigue Fugue! Love it! I have been in love with this piece since I heard Virgil Fox play it back in the 1970s. Simply amazing.

And I always want to hear that short repeat he did at the end. LOL

WOW, I was really amazed when the lovely lady whipped up the Bach!, and that hymn for an outro, not afraid to let that Austin rip a bit. Thank YOU!

This is where I began my organ lessons in 1977 with Bill Evans. Saturday Bill would let me have the A-S in the sanctuary; and then after lunch I'd move to the chapel and log 3-4 more hours of practice. First Presbyterian holds many strong ties for me beyond the organs. My dad was on the ministerial staff before I was born in 1960.

I will admit that I have not watched all the videos, but this is the first time I've seen an organist play a piece of music without having sheet music. Because the piece is memorized, Ms. Handley could concentrate on musicality. Very nice job!

Thank you for playing one of my favorite Bach pieces to showcase this organ! These videos are always so much fun to watch. :-)

I was pleasantly surprised when I realized the Reed in the Pedal was a Trumpet 16'. Impressively voiced as it carries well enough to pass off as a Posaune 16'- which I originally thought it was- particularly on the last chord of the closing hymn. Some beauty stops here- Including the Violone 16' and the Fourniture IV. MOST ENJOYED!!!

I don't know if I could regularly play with my back to the room and that short of a railing. The vertigo gets me sometimes. The organ I play from a balcony has the console facing sideways, so my back is against a side wall.

In the pedal is an independent 16' what kind of pedal reed?
@Sathrandur
@Sathrandur 8 месяцев назад
The 16' Trompette is an extension of the Swell 8' Trompette. The organ specification is linked in the video description as usual.

What’s the organ in the main sanctuary?
@SeattleOrganMan

The sanctuary has a three manual, roughly 56-rank Joseph whiteford Aeolian-Skinner installed in the late 50s. It was dedicated by Virgil Fox.
