My dad bought one in 1977 for $400 wrecked it and sold it for $400 .... it was supposed to be given to me on my 18th birthday.... although I never got it , I miss the car and I can still smell the interior to this day.... a great car...!!!!

hey Lou its me haha...these cars were marketed as middle-ground for the family man that had a wife and 3 or 4 kids that couldnt fit in a Mustang, but he still had enough cheese for some extra-horses. 6 kids got a Country Squire station-wagon. so the little curtain-climbin hip-huggers could crawl back there and clean the french-fries from the package tray when needed..but these stroked and hopped-up 335-horse [lol about 400] medium-riser versions of the 390 called a 428 were top-performers and sellers...figured it was you who found this beauty, if they're out there Lou will find them.

I know someone that has this car. And he absolutely loves it. He is working on it to get it back to its former glory.

This is the exact car my dad bought brand new in 1969. Fairlane Cobra , Black Jade , 4 spd. Only his had a hood scoop. Up here in Colorado at over 5,300 ft altitude the car ran 13.9 @ 101 mph in the 1/4 with 3.23 open diff on old crappy tires! It was a beast. This is one beautiful car!

I bought one of these in the spring of 1969. Mine was a Black Jade fastback with a gold bucket seat interior. It had a C6 automatic, console and air conditioning. The sticker price was $4,600. I ran the car in pure stock at the drags and it turned mid 14s at 100 mph in the quarter. With a severe lack of traction, I had to drive it out of the gate and nail it at the lights. Great memories.

I had a 69 coupe, wasn’t a cobra, 302, black, black vinyl bench seat, vinyl roof. I’d do unholy things to get that car back. Thanks for the memories.
