I intended to bring back a 1975 XJ12C instead, but ran into trouble moving a 1966 Mark 10 out of the way, so, with time running short, I opted to rescue the 1969 XKE instead. This car is worth a lot more anyway, but I still need to rescue the other car as well.

Hi . So was the intention to salvage the XJ ? ....So sad to see all those great cars so neglected for too many years . Was that a V12 "e"type you were putting planks of wood on when rescuing the S2 ? Hope you make a profit ! Shame about the MK X as well , and the 140 dhc . Thanks for sharing

I have another video where I showed each car and told all the info I personally remembered about each of them. Titled "A hoard of jaguars sitting 30 years. Garage tour." And yes, the intention was to actually pull out the XJ12C instead of bringing back the XKE. However, I had a tight schedule on this trip, so I had to make an executive decision and grab the XKE instead. I underestimated the difficulty of moving that MK10, completely, not to mention the state of the front suspension, which I hadn't anticipated. I think it must have been rusted when it was stored in this garage and entropy finally got the best of it. If you are talking about the XKE 2+2 that is bronze-ish, that is a straight six car. The roof fell in on it and I fear is is pretty much a total loss. Thanks for your interest!

@@Nza420 Gosh ! a 12C ! What a bummer ! I trained as a panelbeater at a main dealer in the early 1970's and clearly recall driving one of those beauties at a 140mph testing for wind noise !!!😈😈 And yes a badly damaged 2+2 ? Wise choice to rescue the roadster . So the time limit was on your side not the seller ? I still think that S2 is worth 10 to 15 k despite it's condition and probably no documents ? Cheers !

@@johndavey72 My dad is the original owner of the 1969 s2 XKE. He has all the parts to re-assemble it, and I am sure he has all the provenance as well. He bought one in '67 and they dropped it off the crane unloading it from the cargo ship.. Total loss. He had to wait until '69 to take delivery of this one. He put about 60-ish thousand miles on it in a few years and in the early 70s loaned it to one of his navy pilot buddies for a date and the moron pulled out in front of an International Scout and got it T-boned. It has been off the road ever since. I live in a very rural area of South Georgia now, about 15 mins from the Florida line. I can't deal with the hustle and bustle of "the big city" any more, and the trailer rental on top of that made me have to be in a rush. I also had to pay my brother to help me since he literally took off two days of work to help me shore up the roof and get the car out... as you see, he was instrumental in helping me to do this... I probably could have shored the roof alone, but he does that (construction) for a living, so it took 2 hours instead of 20. xD The first full day that I didn't film was me clearing out roof debris that the roofer was supposed to remove when he did the part of the roof that ultimately fell in on the 2+2. I should have pulled the cover back on the 76 XJ12C and shown the state of it. It is pretty much mint, still. Which is incredible. However, C'est La Vie. Nice to find another Jag enthusiast. They really are wonderfully special cars, if you are into masochism. xD xD xD The XKE will be passed along to me, eventually, and I don't ever intend to sell it. I want to see it restored to a T once again.

@@johndavey72 Also, I intend to get all of those cars moved down here to GA. When I was 25, I *could* drive 750 miles in a day no problem. Now, I am 46, and I pay for it for a week after sitting in the cockpit for that long. Awaiting the sale of a couple pieces of property, and then I will contract a car-carrier service to move all of them down here. I calculated what this trip cost me, and it was over $1500 to move one vehicle 750 miles. When seen from that lens, a car-carrier is a no-brainer. Not to mention, I won't have to worry about idiots on I-95 causing me to wreck. If the car-carrier wrecks, he has insurance. The only caveat is that I will have to spend time in advance of the carrier coming to retrieve the cars figuring out how to get the brakes freed up so that it is indeed possible to move the cars and I don't waste the carrier's time. I hate it when people waste my time. I try never to waste anyone else's time.

@@Nza420 Good Morning from across the pond . WOW ! What a story ! So did your father fly in the Vietnam War in a Crusader , Phantom , Tomcat , Prowler ?.....respect ! So l guess this is your fathers property and his cars so at least there's no time limit to rescue them . Just the small inconvenience of the building falling in on these treasures ! .....and the expense ! Well , good luck to you and if l win a few million l'll pay for the transportation .....don't hold your breath ! 😅😅😅

Wild space. What was it/happened to it?

It originally was a contractor/brick mason's place of business. The large area is where he stored his trucks and equipment.. Some brilliant person decided that tons of tar on top of an already failing parapet roof was a great idea. Drainage was poor and so water just sat up there... enough time, and the edges of the roof have failed.

@@Nza420 Why are masons (the people with work with stone, not the society) so cool? I find they have good taste
