That's one slick Mopar Road Runner complete with a 426 Hemi engine with a 4-speed manual transmission behind it! The engine sounded good and healthy, and that metallic green paint job really sets this 1969 off! Looks great for a Canadian package. I also like the fact that it has a Hurst shifter linkage in it as well! That's a true muscle car! Nice as always Lou!

Wow - Lou - you certainly find the nice ones. Beautiful machine. This brings back memories. Had a 1969 F8 green Sport Satellite back in the day - nicely trimmed out interior (white & woodgrain), albeit with about half the horsepower of this example.

Lou, In the mid '70's my neighbor/friend Mike had 2 of these back-to-back (although both 383/auto) in this exact color. Unfortunately he was having issues with telephone poles jumping out in front of his cars back then and managed to put both Road Runners in the junkyard with a matter of months. He never bought another muscle car again and I told him to switch to Volvos! BTW, I remember he paid $500 each for those Road Runners. They were considered nothing but 7 yr old used cars that had already been put through the ringer by that point. If we only knew then.....

It’s amazing that any of these survived. They were typically bought by young people on a shoe string, got the heck beat out of them and then thrown away.

1969 Plymouth Roadrunner 426 Hemi. This car by Plymouth would be introduced a year prior in 1968 and would last until 1970 (Gaining a new model/redesign in 1971 until 1973). Plymouth paid $50,000 dollars in 1968 ($438,375 today in 2023 dollars) to Warner Brothers to use their Roadrunner name on their car from the Roadrunner show starting in 1946. They also paid a few extra dollars to use the Roadrunner's "Meep Meep" horn featured many times throughout the show. The main engines were the 383 Cubic Inch "Super Commando" V8 (6.3 Litre V8) making 335 HP and 390 LB-FT of Torque, the 426 Hemi making 425 HP and 490 LB-FT of Torque, and the 440 Super Commando making 375 HP and 490 LB-FT of Torque. For 1969, the Roadrunner would get a "Four-Corners" type of Grille similar to other cars that had it (Such as the 1970 Ford Galaxie 500). For 1970, it would get a new front bumper with circular foglights and a more "sad-aggressive" type of front end. 1970 also introduced the Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird and its brother, the Dodge Charger Daytona, which caused NASCAR to change rules in 1971 not allowing any cars with engine displacements higher than 5 liters (305 cubic inches) and banned similar designs to the Superbird and Daytona. The luxury version of the Plymouth Roadrunner would be the Plymouth GTX, which started in 1967 as a luxury version of the 1967 Plymouth Belvedere, with the previous luxury-performance variant being the Plymouth Satellite. The GTX added more luxury features to the interior, had a distinctive "GTX" badge in the middle of the front fascia's grille, and had two white stripes on each side along with the "GTX" reading for 1968-1971. They were also available with the same engines and same features as the Plymouth Roadrunner, albeit more expensive, costing around $3100 to $3500 from 1968-1970. Examples of the GTX's appearances in movies include "Nashville" (1975, featured in a car crash 23 minutes into the film), "Recoil" (2011, featured as the main character's car), and "Mod Squad" (1968-1973).

Good day Lou, I have been watching your video’s & enjoying then thoroughly but boy you can’t go pass this amazing Road Runner & not comment. Just blows me away what you can walk into a dealership late 1968 & order something like what you are showing. Just amazing muscle cars with soul, designed by human & not AI. Which ever angle there is no bad angle non whatsoever. Back in the day the first thing guys did with these I bet was get rid of the hub caps and upgrade to chrome mag wheels....today it's the original caps that are cool.

Along with my 69 Ford Cobra, I also own a 69 Roadrunner. Never considered the front "wonderfully menacing". To me, it looks wonderfully happy. And if you'll notice, the speedometer shows the Roadrunner is moving 5mph sitting still!!!

I was 21 years old in 1983, if I got a Hemi Road runner like that then I still wasn't mature enough to drive it properly, Ha ,or the means to keep it during my early 20's and my poor life choices 😬, Not too terrible of choices but I would not have had the means to store and properly care for that car,Props to people who kept great cars like these that many years!
