Good luck with your project I've had 2 of these my first was 1963 model and then a 1966 my first had a briliant paint job it was white with a deep red roof. That would have been 1970ish.

Well a mate of mine (a professional sprayer) has offered to do it for me. He says it's best to use 2 pack paint. I recently sanded the doors, boot and bonnet and primed them in 1-pack primer but he said it's best to use 2-pack primer for 2-pack paint. I'm just gonna leave it for him to do when it's all sanded to 240.

Love the car. Where did you get the new window rubbers from?
@Darwinion
@Darwinion 4 года назад
I got them from a local company to me and bought the chrome strip from an autojumble. It comes on a roll. I did originally buy the screen strip from a chap on Facebook bit it was too tight. I'd have broken the screen trying to force it in. If you have the old rubber keep some part as a template for getting new ones. There are loads of sizes and different thickness webbings (that's the bit of rubber that sits between the glass edge and the window aperture). If that webbing is too thick you'll have issues getting the screen in.

I'm currently working on removing many layers of paint from an AC Model 70. What paint stripper are you using? I've been a bit worried about the fibreglass being attacked with any random old product.

I used "Paint and Varnish Remover" from Toolstation and it worked OK. You can see it on their website.
