We sold SkiDaddlers and Arctic Cats back in the day. It was even up until about 1970 season. When the Panther was improved for 1970, one ride was about all it took for a Ski-Daddler to get traded off on the Cat. A sled that didn’t try to beat you up or throw you off pretty much sold itself. Even as short travel and narrow ski stance the early Panther slider was, that year you could watch the change in sales at our shop. However I like to see the Orange crates restored at shows. Memories!
Great memories. My late grandfather had a Mark 6 back in 1979 and I was riding on the back of it with him and he hit a jump and I wasn't holding on tight enough and off the back I went and landed in the snow like a lawn dart. I was 9. The ole' Daddy was a fun sled back in those days.
We had (in 67) a Ski Daddler by AMF. This thing would get stuck almost everywhere! And it weighed a ton! We actually had to have a tow truck to pull our snowmobile out of the snow
This sled seemed to have everything except a catchy name..."sports car of snowmobile- pop up headlights - chrome bumpers-- 634cc engine"! "Takes off like a ferrari " the commercial claims
they aren't totally gone. I still enjoy this exact kind of snowmobiling on my '69 ski daddler and '71 ski whiz. (new sleds are too expensive, you see.)
