Love the car. Mine isn't from the 70's, but its still the same with all the power and handling to blow the competition away. Corvette all the way! If you don't like it, ill prove nothing can beat it.
Dude, in the 80's the Corvette was pretty much what it is now. One of the fastest, best handling, most iconic cars in the planet in the time. The 90's C4 were still fast, with versions like the ZR-1 and the Super Sport being extremely fast for the time, tuned after the release of the Viper. Of course, the car went through hard times in the late 70's until '81, but most of the car industry did too. Your Elise was an Exige in some othe video by the way.
Practically got the same modification on mine / 1980 C3 ( except fat body )... One day we got to race together : 70 VS 80. Not very far away, I am in the South of France ;-)
Back not so many years ago, HD wasn't even possible. This was created and uploaded back before there was a such thing as 720p on the web. Sorry it isn't to your liking.
Hot in the passenger cabin unless upgraded heat shielding is used under the carriage, as well as more modern and thicker internal insulation, notably around the engine tunnel. All that said, one of the best designs that stood the test of time: 15 model years! Thank you Chevrolet, we love your work.
***** 1995 is far from 1970 buddy.... plus the skyline dint even exist in the 70s...if I am correct... and why do you compare a tuned car with a stock classic legend? its like comparing tomatoes to pizzas...get it?
it is very common to see a Mitsubishi evo with over 800hp at the wheels from a 2.0L inline4 engine..... the GT86 is a N/A engine and makes 100hp per liter from the factories and is expected to last well over 100,000km... the supra engine is legendary cause its only 3.0L but is very common to see on driving around with over 1800whp and they are reliable only the +9.4L V8s can do that and not break down after every season
If 2L have 600 hp , 6.2 L will have much more than 600 hp with the same technologies like twintyrbo , tsi , Gasoline direct injection , high-tech ignition system ,modern metal alloys with high parameters of durability and heat resistance and heat sink , high-performance cooling system , and others technologies , which allow to increase the compression ratio. In engines with a large volume can do much more traction in the lower range , than in the engines with a small amount .
I'm car carrier in the states , had all kinds of cars on my trailer ( porsches , ferraris , u name it ) and one time i had the chance to drive one of this C3 fell in love with it , that's why I'm restoring one of '69 beauty right now and I can tell u to make it real nice u can spend around 50k but its worth it, because its one the most beautiful designs . I know they are all those modern cars which they do 900hp and they look blank no shapes like boxes , who cares my friends ? on this one u have chrome , u got style , u smell gas and u have a Sound what a sound !
all these modern cars r jelly beans.. they all look da same different color... shitty evo's look like corollas.. they dont stick out... vette on the other hand is eye candy and so much sexier than any japanese import
The saying is all wrong it's "Promise what you can't deliver" and the vette has never had that problem except maybe the late 70's early 80's cars and the first vettes that had straight 6's Also corvettes deliver more than what they claim whoever says otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about, The SNS vette did 10.6 second quarter mile times IN 1969
If you consider that it is a stroker from a SBC (LT-1 probably) it could be around 600 on crank. On the other hand, this car is nothing close to stock. To me it's butchering good car. If you want race car out of C3, just use 75' and up models. It would be both cheaper and you won't kill resale value on your car.
Its very possible to have a tame stealthy beast! Just get a small cam and really good heads, or just get a big cam with a 115-118 lobe separation which is probably what he did. Silent killer.
Quincy Hall true but ive never heard an engine that makes 600hp and not a big block sound so tame. You dont hear anything through the pipes just a constant idle with not even the slightest chop. It might be a lobe separation deal but i never thought it would tame it that much with the lift and duration required to keep up with heads capable of supporting 600hp.
Shaun smeby could be blowing smoke about actual Horsepower numbers. But can be done on a chevy small block normally aspirated. Custom ported heads not just plain old shelf bought heads with a with cam to match the heads and you have a beast.
"this corvette stingray built in 1970 looks just like it did 30 years ago" BULLSHIT nice wide body kit and the tires are out so far they would be fully explosed in a original..
@unclefreddie70 they made a nonofficial concept of the c7 based on the design of the c3, it looks really good. it's called the c3r, too bad they're not going to put it into production though. i doubt gm would take a retro aim at the corvette.
I like the chrome bumpers from 1968 -72 best of the C3 generation Corvettes. This one have L88 fender flares and offset trailing arms because of the wide wheels. For those that wonder it is Centerline wheelws(this type of wheels was pretty common in the late 80`s and early 90`s I think this car is really though I think the best looking Corvette is the C2 1963-67
