Great car ! I loved the comment Dennis made, "These were rated at 330 horse with around 400 at the rear wheels. They neutered the numbers because of the insurance rates". So true.
It's funny how on the brochure they rated the (Estimated) HP at 3200 RPM. Who stops the dyno run at 3200 with a Big block Ford, and makes that the official number? I doubt many insurance companies fell for that one.
Beautiful example of Shelby awesomeness. While I am more partial to the early years of Shelbys, there is no doubt that this 70 is absolutely gorgeous. Great color too. Every one of Dennis' cars you have shared are beautiful. You are one lucky guy, Lou. Not many get to drive a Shelby. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Russell, "Beautiful example of Shelby awesomeness." Well said :-) I'm very lucky, and happy to share that moment with you. Thank you for viewing, sharing, and you're welcome, Lou
One of my favorites too, Lou! With the Grabber Blue paint, the reflective stripes, and that 428, you'd better admire it before that stoplight changes, or it's gone!
I restored my 70 (Gulfstream/white 4 speed) GT350 #2368. The driver is correct that this is an extremely comfortable drive. Windows down on the freeway and you can really enjoy it. Beautiful car. Nice!
Another outstanding video Lou. In 1970 I almost bought one but I just didn’t have the funds to get it. I was stationed in Virginia Beach in the military at the time. Still love this car!
That is one cool Shelby Mustang. I love that he drives it . I'm sure he doesn't often because that car has a very high value . So cool that he allowed you to drive it as well . I can see that you have good relationships with many of the owners of these beautiful cars . Thanks for sharing .
Hi Michael, Happy to read you enjoy this "Cool" car :-) Seems I bond well with "Car People" and I think it's because we're both passionate about the same topic, cars. My pleasure sharing with you, and you're welcome, Lou
Cool ride - I think I have already told you this - My first new car was a 1970 Mustang - Red 302 - The Shelby was above my pay grade. • Cheers from the Detroit & Mackinac Railway 🚂
Me, too.mThough, mine was a hot 1970 DODGE coronet 500/ RALLEY red/383 TURQUOISE ,ETC.INTERESTINGLY, THOSE Polyglas tires were really flat on -20 Mormings in N WEBSTER IND, ETC, FORGOT , what it was ,Ike to have a potent engine, though now with Supercharging, etc , really impressive,
What a sweet Shelby and how cool that you got to drive it! Those were a tough car to sell back then. The 70's were leftover 69's with new vin numbers the hood stripes and chin spoilers. The few I'd see on the roads back then were easy to remember like super birds and Daytona chargers. Thanks for a great video on a really rare Shelby.
Hi Steve, Happy to read you appreciate the rarity of this car. Very cool to take a spin in this car and happy to be able to share it with you :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing, and you're welcome, Lou
This '70 Shelby is beautiful in fastback form with Grabber blue paint. Oh and the exhaust note and tailpipe design - very cool. Really like this car, in part, because it doesn't seem to get the attention of the earlier models yet I think it's more streamlined and as good looking as any other. Happy for Dennis, and grateful to Lou - always enjoy your terrific vids. Thanks guys.
Hello Lou, what un amazing car...I love the mustang series from that era... very cool model. Thanks once more for charing, and is awesome to know that details info from the owner like all the little differences between models... thanks, can wait for the next episode. cheers. 🇨🇭🇵🇹👍🏼
Hello Pedro, Happy to read you enjoy learning from the Care Taker on all the details they know about there cars. Think that is so much FUN to learn from them. You're welcome, and glad you're along for the ride. Lou

Lou… Your presentation of this car, and this car, makes this a four-star video. No worries… I am subscribed. And I always thumbs up. Another excellent video
My favorite of all of the mustangs!! My neighbor's dad had a 1969 GT 500 in a "british racing green" color. Very rare to see one in this gorgeous blue color I actually have that same brochure. I remember being in my friends dad's Shelby, and being in the rear seat holding onto the roll bar , as a kid as he rocketed down the road, a most memorable experience for me!! That sound, it's just as I remember it! Dennis is very fortunate to have that car. Thanks Lou!
Hi Carlos, Happy to read this one is a favorite Mustang for you! Glad to read this car brings back memories of your car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Gotta love those NACA ducts. Beautiful car!!! I always loved the front and rear end treatment on those cars to make them look different from the Mustang.
Hi Chris, Agreed. Good news! Dennis agreed to share all of his cars with us on the Channel, and this Friday's upload of his car you're going to say "WHAT?". Stay tuned, Lou
Thanks Lou for this interview! I was patiently waiting for you to post this amazing and cool Shelby GT 500. No pressure, but hoping for more like these, maybe a 1969 GT 500? I am restoring one so all the details in your videos are incredibly helpful and educational as well. No pressure Lou but I'll continue to wait patiently. Keep up the great videos, appreciate them all. ✌
Great job on showing the car! Spectacular car and definitely one of my favorites on your channel. I Learned new things as well. Keep up the great work!
Hi Brandon, Happy to read this one is a favorite on the Channel :-) The learning for me is so much FUN, and I'm glad you enjoy that too. Appreciate the kind word, it's encouraging, Lou
This would have been my car of choice, but, i lost my sight at six and have never driven or ridden in my car of choice. Thank you for the video, it takes a little of the disappointment away!

Not many know, but there were so many unsold '69 Shelbys that Ford re-badged the '69 left-overs as a '70 (with the FBI's approval)... changed the serial numbers, added the chin spoiler, black stripes on the hood... and Dennis recognized this as he commented when showing the data plate on the door that the new sticker had been added and the holes for the '69 data plate were still there. The '69 '70 Shelby has always been my favorite car in the world and this one is beautiful! Thanks for the vid!

Lou, Dennis: great overview.... admittedly , I wanted a SHELBY ALSO also: settling on a 1970 DODGE Coronet 500/383/310( ??supposedly rated) my FIRST NEW CAR(* the RALLEY Red color / Black Vinyl Helped) for some** $3100 full delivered price Actually, took,a test drive in a BOSS 302@ Purdue ,looked a few others....driving Fords for several years then....anyways, thanks,
My goodness where does Dennis get these beauties from my Lord! This car there is just no words that fit this car but just to say it is outstanding in every way! I love that color Grabber Blue and the options are just what I would have had maybe a few more when or if I got it new. But hey just a ride in would get my adrenelin up and running. I loved the ride along! That engine sound and position of the exhaust in the back I just loved. Dennis and Lou I could write all kinds of good things on this car all day and it still would not be enough to say about this car. Dennis keep bringing out these goodies!!! Thanks for sharing Lou a outstanding video!!!
Hi Steve, High praise for this car :-) Glad to be able to take you along for the ride, and I'll let you in on an upcoming episode. This Friday Dennis is going to bring out a car you're going to say "WHAT?" :-) You're welcome, and stay tuned, Lou
IWhat a time machine. I remember one of these hot roddin around the little prairie town I grew up in. It was an orange car with white lettering/stripes. My friends and I called it the creamsicle. This was like 76'-77', I would have been in kindergarten/grade 1.
Wow' awesome! That color just takes this car to a whole new level! I've always been a fan of the Shelby Mustangs and the 69/ 70 sports roof is my favorite Mustang and Shelby next to the convertible! I don't ever recall seeing a Shelby in this color before and with the impression this car made on me I think I would remember it!
I love those Shelby Stangs! This is as gorgeous a ride as it gets! Electric cars can kiss my (CENSORED)!!!! Big time! Its one thing to feel power - but then with this machine, you feel it, hear it and smell it. No E-Car can ever compare. I know I'm being vague about it, but I really don't like E-Cars. Ewww! 3 Wows, 2 Thumbs Up, and a Fonzie "Ayyye!" for this 70 Shelby
@@Freedomquest08 I agree. The only thing missing from them is a toaster. But then I guess if the batteries catch fire - then it might count as a toaster.
“Got my drivers license at 14, and the first thing I do is take my dad’s 34 dodge out and get caught by the cops driving 85 mph.” Carroll Shelby was an absolute legend, and a genius with cars.
Hi, Lou! Boy, talk about HORSE power! Or is it snake power? Well, either way, it must have been quite an honor and a thrill to drive something most of us never get to! Many thanks to you and Dennis for this full gallop jaunt!
Hi iswc27, "Snake power" I like that :-) Good one. Yes, a real treat to drive this one for sure, and glad I can share that with you. My pleasure sharing with you, and you're welcome, Lou
Nice ‘69 Shelby. The tail lights are identical as the mechanical sequential used in the ‘65 Thunderbird. I remember in the T-Bird they slowly lit one by one from center to side, until all three lamps remained lit for about one second, then went dark simultaneously, repeating the cycle until turned off.

Goodday Lou, Hope you & your family are all well. Just been under the pump here in Melbourne, everything has opened up & doing 15 hour days of work. Finally get to sit down & watch your video's. Great Shelby Mustang in the Grabber Blue. Considering how much Shelby's are fetching atm, yeah you would seldom drive one. In my opinion after the movie " Ford vs Ferrari " came out all of a sudden everything at the auctions with any heritage to Shelby went up 25% overnight especially at Mecum. Dennis is a great caretaker of this magnificent Shelby. Love those Thunderbird taillights in sequential. Just back tracking on a few video's atm. Stay warm, stay safe. Hi Louis, This one is a real treat, and to drive it was a wonderful opportunity. I'm best when I'm around cars, and this week there were 3 I videoed you're going to enjoy :-) One of them is a 1966 Fairlane that I'll upload and share with you this week, and you're going to be amazed. You stay safe too, Lou

This 70 Shelby Mustang is the most beautiful Mustang ever produced. Second IMO is the 69 Mach 1 with the full ribbed rocker panels, before Larry Shinoda started stripping away all that beautiful trim from 70 on. Lou, fellow Shelby fans, I've sent emails to Revology® Cars, advising them that they need to offer a reproduction of the 69 / 70 Shelby Mustang. I hope others will send Revology similar emails. We need to get these 69 / 70 Shelby Mustangs reproduced. One big positive about Revology, is that they would probably enhance the performance on their reproductions. I.e. the reproductions would be faster and maybe lighter than the originals.

well you wouldn't believe it - just stumbled across this vid - I own the car that followed this one down the assembly line - # 3131 - a dead ringer - colour - air cond - fold down seat - mine has tilt wheel fact am/fm - went to riverside california - so it had the calif gas tank vapour system installed at Kar Kraft prior to selling - kinda lame 3.00 gear because of the air conditioning - i put in a 3.25 pumpkin - bit more zippy now - they had to remove windshield to remove the 69 serial # plate - FBI oversaw the installation of a "new" 1970 number plate - same numbers except for the first number "9" to a "0" seeing mine was a calif car - no rust and luckily no hit - buildsheet under rear carpet -

Hey Lou its me...dont apologize it does have an AMX look to it, many of this era's cars had a generalized "coke-bottle" fuselage and long hood short deck design. to me and I know its blasphemous sacrilege, the front fascia even has a 69 Camaro look to it....kutgw.
