Great footage. That wheelie that Joel busted off at the checkered flag was sick! When you ask yourself why the Belgians are the absolute kings of moto, you only need to harkin back to the early seventies to see why. I guess the real question is: if the Belgians had to choose who had a better career, Sylvan or Eric, who would they choose? They were both Hall Of Fame riders as far as I'm concerned. I been kind of keeping my eyes peeled for another Geboers to show up in the results sheets but nothing yet! Then there's Joel. Perhaps the greatest natural talent ever.
It's very hard to find film footage of Mikkola on a Husqvarna. I enjoyed watching this even though I couldn't understand a thing they were saying. Outstanding!
Cool to watch. All natural dusty tracks. Silver tank Suzukis. First saw them at Unadilla in 1970 or 71. The sport sure has evolved. They were larger than life back then.
