I've always liked it too. Ever since I studied a silver one parked for a few days by a gas station on the outskirts of Denver in the 1980s. It surprised me. I admired the fact that Lamborghini had built a comfortable-looking V12 car for four people and their groceries. And they even put glass across the back so you could see out! It's news now when Porsche builds a Panamera, Aston a Rapide, or Ferrari an FF, but Lamborghini did it a long time ago with this. Good on you Aaron!

My mum's boyfriend had one of these when I was 10ish. This car (lambo red, gold Muira knock-offs, series 3) made me fall in love with cars. I love its ugly-beautiful looks.

One of the better C&D videos in a long time. Keep it up! It was great to see someone so passionate about their car despite all of its "troubles". It showed a car is worth more to the right person than to somebody who doesnt really care about the car but rather the price tag and only looks at the numbers on paper. Really great stuff and dont ever sell the Espada, its beautiful!

I have the same book he held up and I agree that there's something about the Espada. I love the Miura as well (in fact probably more), but there's a quirky beauty about the Espada and the fact that it's a fairly practical every day super car. You can seat four people in this thing!

Excellent video ! Really liked the balanced article where the owner pointed out that this old exotic car requires regular maintenance attention. Since it no is not only an exotic car, it's also an old car meaning there will be common issues of electrical insulation cracking and other old car issues. I have a 1982 Alfa Romeo GTV6 and an 89 Milano Verde. Both challenge me with old car-"itus". Love them both though. Would like a Urraco to go with them someday.

Love this video, Aaron! This is the fuel real gearheads run off of. A favorite model of mine, as well. It was very daring, and that sound! As a kid in the early sixties, and growing up in Detroit, I had many major, foreign infatuations, and coveted Karmann Ghias, Cortina GTs, all the early Lamborghinis and Ferraris, Triumph TRs, MGs, Rover V8s, probably every single Fiat, and the still-wonderful Citroen DS! I get it, I get it!

I enjoyed your video , in fact I have viewed it 3 times , so far , my Espada was a 1972 model which I bought in 1978 , kept it for 27 years , then gave , up with continuous break downs , so swapped it with an 82 Porsche 928 , one of the virtues of the Espada , is that you can go for a drive with 3 girls with you , instead of just one , so , hang on to your Espada .

I think that in 1969 one of our Motor Magazines in the U.K. had a pull out colour centrefold of a metallic silver one that I had on my bedroom wall. Very eclectic and exotic compared to the contemporary vehicles. Love it.

Late 60's and early 70's is the absolute golden age for European sports cars imo. I love everything released by Lamborghini, Maserati, Jaguar, Aston, Porsche and Ferrari in those days. Of course there are the extremely desirable models like the 250 GTO for example, which are out of the price range of most people, but there are still plenty of affordable super-cars for the average collector left on the market. This would be one of those cars. I love the idea of a Lamborghini that looks nothing like the classic design associated with the brand following the Countach. This specific car really reminds me of the old Maserati's that were around at the same time or the Alfa-Romeo Montreal. Really great looking car and spacious too. My dream Lamborghini still has to be one of the early model LP400's or a prototype if they still exist, but this is high up there on my list as well :)

This is the first classic car profile I've ever seen that doesn't spend too much time on a background story that everybody already knows and too little time on the actual machine. Great sounds, great visuals, great tidbits of not-so-common knowledge. The highs AND the lows. Well done. Discovery/Velocity/Spike channels, take notice.

First of all, it’s about the experience: the feel of the V12 engines power and sound!! Then it’s the drive of this low slung performer, accelerating and shifting gears!! You can have passengers experience this cool feeling too! The exterior looks are not too important by then. @6:07 The roofline is low!! Soo cool looking!!

Aaron-I so envy you, and share your sentiment about valuing what everyone doesn't have. This has always been a very special car to me, and I will never forget the day I saw one for the first time, in a parking garage in NYC maybe 1975. Probably came from Kessler Motors. It remains one of the most stunning cars, and your car sounds AMAZING. Enjoy it, drive it, just don't let it sit. Great! Cheers.

Superb video. Very nice story, really interesting and very nice shots. I also like the fact, that it isn´t a "mainstream" Lamborghini like a Countach, Diablo or Miura which everyone thinks at first when they hear Lamborghini. Very nice. Beautiful car and keep up the good work.

Thanxxx for the vid. Also my favorite car since childhood. Was in the awesome early 70s Kodansha youth encyclipedia as Italian car. Very sensusal, very seventies, very Ai, very vehement, very formidable, very wide. How do You mean not wide. It s all about width. I adore wide and low cars. It s litterally bad ass, that s with the photo. And it is a 4 seat hatchback. Very family, suppose that s Italian. My other dream car is Citroen SM, air susp and a Maserati V6, dreamly. Third Triumph TR7.

Came across one a few months ago, just sitting pretty on the side of an Alfa Romeo shop in Downtown Tacoma, Washington. Spent the rest of that day and then on, going nuts over not finding an Alfa that resembled it, until I revisited it today and noticed the bull on the hood after a closer look... I find it very handsome, and it's hilariously fitting I'd grow smitten with one of Lamborghini's quirkier cars.

Not even close. A rear engined V6 two-seater cobbled with Lotus, Peugoet/Renault/Volvo, and even Ford (I think it has Capri brakes but don't quote me on that) parts versus a Lambo... mmm.
