What a difference 7 years make, my 63 Chevy takes two or more revolutions to turn a corner, the Trans Am only needs 1/4 spin! Love that blue!!

The gages had chrome trim bezels in 1970. It changed to black in 1971.

That space in front if the shifter was for the optional 8-track tape player.

They ran as good/strong as they looked ! Buddy had it in white A runnin dog ! !

Nice video and car, BUT why didn't you show the Ram Air opening during the aceleration? This is the difference about this year model and the 73-81 models.

Love the '70.5 Trans Ams! Had a cousin in Johnstown who had a Ram Air IV version that I got to drive a few times! But how do you run an engine built for leaded gasoline on unleaded?

I had a 70 blue for about 12 years. Sold it about 10 years ago.

The storage cubby would be where the optional CB radio would do.

High Performance Cars magazine tested a 1970 Pontiac Trans-Am with the "366 horsepower" Ram-Air III, 4-speed manual transmission, and 3.90 rear gears, back when they were new. It ran a best of 14.45 at 100 mph on the standing quarter mile, quite a bit slower than any 2023 4-cylinder automatic transmission base-model Ford Mustang.
