A heart attack striking days before a tour. A cancer attacking the brain of a progressive rock legend. These untimely deaths and more kept these music legends from hitting the road one more time.

If you truly wish their memories welll, stop saying stuff about their art that just isn’t true. I cannot believe you actually wrote or one of your writers actually wrote at 11:03 that the lead singer from Boston was known for his falsetto and that this is what gave him his distinctive sound. That is insulting to such an amazing vocalist. It’s just insane! The person Who wrote that is either not a musician, not familiar with the band’s actual work, or stone DEF. I can’t decide which. Simple exercise: I will list four very famous songs here by them. I challenge anyone reading this to search them out and give the vocals just a little small cursory listen and then, come back and truthfully say that the man who is singing is singing with falsetto: Rock ‘n’ roll band, Amanda, Hooked on a Feeling and Peace of Mind.

Brad was a truly fantastic vocalist. One of the absolute best in the game. He’s up there with Lou Grant, John Anderson and Tony Luis. I absolutely cannot believe these people characterized that amazing voice of his as a falsetto voice. They should’ve been listening to the Bee Gees. The interesting thing is both Rush and Z Z Top had been performing with its trio of original members for at least 40 years. Only the deaths of Neil Peart and Dusty Hill respectively derailed all continuously of both bands in moving even further. Besides, how many bands from the late 1960s and early 1970s are still performing with all of its original members? I can name one. The Rascals.
@DuncanWEDD2019
@DuncanWEDD2019 Год назад
The peerless "Professor" Neil Peart was not, in fact the original drummer with Rush. Founding member John Rutsey performed on the band's eponymously titled first album released in 1974. Rutsey left for health reasons, Peart auditioned, by all accounts won the drum chair almost as soon as he sat down, and became principal lyricist. I would have to say that Neil Peart was quite possibly the most important new band recruit in rock music history, undoubtedly on percussion (yes, Phil Collins).

He absolutely did not. Thank you for saying that. This has been bothering me because he was such an amazing vocalist. Occasionally, for ornamentation purposes, just like any other singer he would make light use of it in one or two notes occasionally during certain songs but, absolutely never did he make extensive use of it to the point that it would characterize his entire sound. High, sweet tenors like his voice were extremely popular during that time in rock ‘n’ roll.

That is absolutely NOT a falsetto voice he had. He just had a high tenor. Next, they’ll be saying John Anderson from Yes, Tony Luis of the Outfield or Richard Marx sings falsetto. Their Range is exactly the same as brads all of them were known for having a high, sweet tenor voice which was very popular during that time period. For comparison, listen to the Bee Gees. They extensively made use of falsetto. Then, come back and listen to Boston again. use hooked on a feeling which is one of the greatest songs ever and you will be able to tell that Brad does not use falsetto unless you are smoking crack or completely deaf.

Watts couldn't play his way through a wet paper bag! I've been playing drums since I was in the womb and if someone asked me to list the best drummers, Watts wouldn't even be on the list!! I've heard all of The Allman Brothers' early albums and there not a single track that has ANY psych on it! But, from what I've seen of American psych, it just means you have a wah-wah pedal! When did Gregg have TIME to collaborate with his wife?? They were only married for a week!! Her biggest ambition in life was to have a bigger wedding ring collection than Zsa Zsa Gabor!! 2017?? I thought Gregg died in the `80's!! I didn't know Lord and Eagan died. I doubt anyone would even miss Walter. They only had about 5 good songs. Didn't know Lanier was dead, either. He no longer fears the reaper! I didn't know Ric Okasek was dead! But, at that point in my life, I was going through hell courtesy of my ex-sisters and I had no t.v. or newspapers at the time or since. Didn't know Dio was dead, either but, I'm not interested in metal. Never heard of Delp. I wasn't a Boston fan, either. Wow! Nearly all of these guys died at 67!! So, if the 27 club doesn't get you, the 67 club will!! Too bad none of the cancer victims knew anything about any of the cures!
