1970s NZ Motocross, Taupo TT: 90mph Airfield Aces! (1971, Yamaha, CZ, Husqvarna, Suzuki, Kawasaki) 

New Year's Day, 1971, saw the Taumarunui MCC hold a Miniature TT meeting on a grass airfield at Taupo, New Zealand.
Miniature TT could be described as a road-race on grass, being much faster than a normal motocross circuit but also sometimes featured jumps and undulations. Motocross machines were often used.
Most of the top North Island motocross riders were present at Taupo, then made the short journey to Rotorua for a motocross event at Mamaku (film to follow).
A four-time road racing world champion, Hugh Anderson was in his element around the high-speed TT circuits…
