Unfortunately the Super Ajax side was not on display in any of their 3 European Cup victories. In 1971 they were only content to win the trophy and didn't come out to attack as they were scared of being caught on the break. Here Inter Milan spoiled the game with their defensive tactics and in 1973 they were happy to sit back and stroll after Rep's early goal.
You must be kiding. The play of Ajax in this game is superb, Inter didn't almost touch the ball. Same one year later with Juventus. Ajax in those days ... just Martians!
Center back. Barry Hulshoff. Great player. He had nothing to worry about. The gulf in class between these two teams is immense. This Ajax team may be the greatest team in the history of European football. Must be on a very,very short list.
