1971 Nurburgring, Nordschleife + Sudschleife (Gesamtstrecke) | McLaren M23 | Automobilista 2 

My first actual lap of the Nurburgring was exactly this in July 1970. I feel like one of the lucky ones to have drivin both the Sudscheife and Nordschleife. These reenactments are fun and bring back many memories of a very fun summer.

On the north track there a couple of " Easter" eggs. Turn right between the armco across from the hotel by the flugplatz sign. Alot of "off maps" but stick to the dirt tracks and you can almost reach the castle. Other is at Adanau Bridge ausgang sign to the right.

Historical musicologists research old performance practice to try and determine how did Bach hear his music hundreds of years ago… Reiza, Fat Alfie, etc are doing the same for us motor racing fans - their research using any old footage etc, hard work, and artistic ability are giving us a valuable record of what it might have felt like to drive these old lost tracks. Or, to do silly stuff like drive modern cars on old tracks, or old cars on modern tracks. What a time to be a sim racing fan! 😀

Too bad the Ur-Suedschleife didn’t stick around. Today’s GT3, GT4 and TCR cars would have a blast on this layout in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring.

Why can't Gran Turismo do something like this with old routes? I generally miss the Hockeneheimring there. and then of course many other routes, old and new. The only one who came close to getting this done was Project Cars. But for me it's undriveable compared to GT7. I want to hope that Gran Tourismo will manage to deliver a "basic equipment" and then bring DLC's with country-specific routes that once existed and still exist today in their various variants that you can drive. exactly the same with all vehicles. You could do this by brand by buying an "Audi" DLC pack with A, S and RS models as well as old cars. but that can all take time. or the wish will never come true
