I love the video. And you make it interesting to watch as you speak just like a normal person. I can’t stand fake videos that people post pretending they know more than they do. I work on my own bike I never bring it to a shop and I enjoy making my mistakes and learning from them. And I think you did a great job
So happy I found this. Just got back my 73 xlh that I owned 20 years ago and doing a total makeover myself. I'm totally in love with this machine but lost at converting from right side shift to suicide shift. This ol girl needs some tips for sure
Good morning from Florida, I'm building something close to what you did. Mine will have the clutch built into the shifter handle. I'll post a vid soon.
Why not put clutch on your left hand..use left foot for rear brake like it's made for and just put shifter on right side directly on the shifter..making it harder then it seems
thanks guy for the info man I have looked high and low to figure out how to put a jockey shifter on my 68 iron head have the shifter from the forward controls have to remove em cuz I am to short to reach em what year was the cross member from
Hello mate, I'm curious on the rear axle length on your bike? I'm building a chopper with an 18inch early sportster rear wheel which is quite narrow like yours. I've got a measurement of 9.5 inches from outer axle plate to axle plate.
I did complete it back when the video was posted, and have ridden it pretty hard since then. There are ups and downs. It’s definitely unique and no one will try to steal your ride, but it’s hard on your tranny, at least how I did it seems to be. Not terrible, but the constant shaking of the big ass shifter lever seems to throw you out of gear every now and then in first.
@@travis8543383 right on. I recently got a 72 right shift. I don't want to do a suicide shift but I have to have the forwards. Hopefully I can find something decent. I really dig the bike. I love ratty looking sleds. RFTC, ride fast and take chances. 👊
