10,250 actual mile time capsule! Judged 98.8% original. It was given a gold award at the 2015 and 2016 Camaro Nationals. It was also given Benchmark status which only applies to the most original examples.
It was never forgotten about and neglected. It has been properly cared for all its life, stored in a climate control environment. It functions like it did when new. Still looks beautiful too. Loads of documentation and complete owner history with stories and pictures. 1st owner had it until 1991, sold with 2,893 miles. He bought the car, got married and had kids shortly after. Need I explain more? He has forwarded pictures of the car going back to 73 including his wedding day. The person we acquired the car from owned it in 2001 with 8,979 miles. He acquired it a 2nd time when he had the chances (paid considerably more).
EXTERIOR: Pristine virgin body. It is straight, fits right, has no rust or damage. Mostly original paint. 50 hours were spent carefully polishing the paint, it still looks practically new. The stripes are factory painted, the overspray in the trunk jamb is correct. The glass, chrome, moldings, grill, emblems still look like new. Door jambs are spotless, weather strips and window seals are like new. It has 2 of the original tires it was born with. The other 2 are original date coded tires were located and installed.
INTERIOR: It is pristine condition. It's not even dusty, stinky, faded or cracked. Literally, it looks brand new from carpet to headliner.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Completely as it left the factory. Of course all #s matching. It has smog system, reproduction battery, correct hoses, clamps etc. It is correct down to the smallest detail. Being a Benchmark car means this would set the standards for other Camaros being restored to concourse condition. Features include power steering and brakes.

Wild. When I worked for Chevrolet in 1977 one of our parts customers had one of these in Brown with black stripes. It had 10 original miles on it... Window Sticker was still on the window.It was brand new ! I remember he wanted 10k for it.... Those were the days.... :)

1970-73 was this body style. If you added the RS option then you would have round signal lights beside the headlights and the split bumper with the rubber enduro front end.

That has the tall spoiler option - which is somewhat rare and adds to the value.

How can anyone with a gorgeous Z/28, not be tempted to drive it? Amazing. Although, I know a guy that owns a '64 GT0 389 tri power/4spd. Every nut, bolt and screw on it are original right down to the walnut steering wheel. Last I heard it only had a 120 miles on it. He knew what he had when he bought it.

I still have my 73 LTRSZ-28 bought new for $5100. Dark red 4 speed. I believe there is one in a collection in Texas with 99 original miles. Mine is Canadian so it probably had a higher cost. MSRP was 54 hundred and change Still a strong runner. That 350 is the old 350 horsepower mill with lower compression.

I love this generation Camaro. The only item that is not uniquely Camaro is the steering wheel. Take a look, it's actually a Vega wheel. GM must have had a boat load of these steering wheels laying around. You'll even see they used them on the '76 Vette.🤦🏼‍♂️
@johnmilner7603
@johnmilner7603 3 года назад
That steering wheel started in 1971. I had it in my 71 Z28 but my current 70 Z28 is the hard plastic with the finger ribs on the backside.

Those tires would be dry roted and would most likely fall apart at 60 mph. Nice car. I’ve owned my 70 Z28 since 1981. Too bad the person who ordered it didn’t order the gauge option. And shame on GM not making gauges a std option with the Z28. It was included in the past.
@johngialanellajr8650
@johngialanellajr8650 3 года назад
1970-72 Camaro Z-28's had gauges standard. I do not know when they changed it to an option. 1973 ? But you would think the original owner would have ordered it. That is strange.

Nope, optional in 73 for the sport coupe. The TypeLT in 73, gauges were standard equipment in that model of Camaro.

Yes, all 70-81 2nd Gen had 350’s in the Z28.

Yes, all 2nd Gen Z28’s 1970-81 had 350’s unless you were in California in 81 and the 350 was not available, then you got the gutless 305.
