From a professional automotive and motorcycle custom painter, your rattle can job looks awesome!! And yes, that bike sounds just like they always did, unlike the comment made that it didn’t.
I had the same bike only red and white...bought new at Huntsville Honda in Texas. I was 16 in 73. I figured I would be riding more on street vs the SL 350 model plus i had a 72 Suzuki TS 185 trail bike already and a 73 TM 125 Suzuki motocross bike. I had it for two years and let my friend ride it and was killed in a crash in Nov 75 the bike was a total loss also. The next street bike I got was a RD 350 Yamaha which was a rocket compared to the Honda. I miss the two stroke bikes.
That is awesome! I also have one. It was my dads bike he bought brand new in 73. He gave it to me in 2000. I've let it sit for about 18 years and it needs a lot of work but Iv started on it and hope to have it look and run as good as yours.
Picked one up yesterday, it runs but needs a lot of work. I’m no mechanic but looking forward to the challenge. Any idea on where to get a shop manual?
What, needs a tune-up? Anybody familiar with the CL350, knows this is a good running bike. This bike has new NGK spark plugs & wires, new points, new coils, valves adjusted, carbs rebuilt with new air cleaners and the list goes on. Check out the videos of my other vintage bikes and you'll see that I keep them all in great original running condition (including this one).
I am guessing, judging by your sporadic neutral light, that the switch is covered in grime. If you open the front sprocket cover you can see the switch at the top...the sludge from the chain flys off and contaminates the switch. One of the few design flaws on an otherwise solid bike design. BTW, amazing rattle can paint job.
