Kent you are like an encyclopedia for Mercedes. It has taken you a lifetime to develop your knowledge and you probably know more than someone who spent 30 years working in a mercedes factory. That person would not have knowledge of every system in the car like you do. You deserve the title of Professor Mercedes.

I know first hand how much of a brutal pain it is to drill the cylinder out on a w123. If only padlocks are made out of that alloy! I could not turn the key to put a pin in the security hole. I still loose sleep thinking about the trouble I went through haha

I gotta tell you Ken, you saved my bacon with your video and rebuilt steering lock. Mine (107) was sticking more and more and I got the bright idea of spraying some lock lubricant into the mechanism. That was a BIG mistake because any dirt that was helping keep my key turning got washed away and it became almost impossible to work the key. I found your video ordered the replacement and on the day I replaced my steering lock it took a good 20 minutes of jiggling and I even had a pair of small pliers on the old key in order to get it into the #1 accessory position. Getting the old one out was sort of a bugger but the new one almost (much to my surprise) fell into place. Once again my hat goes off to you sir. Thanks from Buckley

There is a 1990 Mercedes on my property. It’s been parked for ten years. I don’t have the key. I don’t have the title. I can’t scrap it and it looks to be worth fixing but I need to be able to at least try and start it. Without a key what are my odds? I need to move it to weld a trailer. I hate this “security” feature.

May not be worth it. Even if you can get the tumbler out and turn the switch with a screwdriver your fuel system is going to be all messed up both at the tank and in the fuel injection system.

key doesnt turn i used to be able to move the steering wheel and the key and it would unlok but now it doesnt its a 300sd turbo diesel 1983

This just happened to me bro can't turn the wheel can't get the car in to neutral gotta call a tow truck then the guy breaks the oil pan in moist of the towbig problem and this started it
