Most of My Family bought Full-sized Chevys like this one, but mostly Impalas, Bel Airs, and Biscaynes with the 350 V8 and 2 barrel carb.! My Father almost bought a 1976 Impala 2 door Custom Coupe like this one, but he ordered a 1976 Monte Carlo Landau instead, which was easier for my Mother to drive and it was Mid-sized like a Chevelle Malibu and the Monte looked more like a Cadillac Eldorado than another Chevy! This was in the Fall of '75 when I was 5! That Monte Carlo became my 1st car! Should have kept it! If I was old enough back then in my teens or early 20s, I would have ordered a 1973, 1974, or 1975 Impala Sport Coupe with the 454 V8 with 4 barrel carb. and dual exhausts in Silver, Black, or Midnight Blue Metallic with a Dark Blue Cloth interior and AM/FM with 8-Track Tape Cartridge Player Radio and 4 speaker Crossfire Stereo System! I could play my Sammy Hagar, Aerosmith, and Grand Funk Railroad 8-Tracks in it then! Also, body colour sport mirrors, wire wheel covers, and F-41 Sport Suspension with front and rear stabilizer sway bars! Just like my '76 Monte had! My Monte had a 350 V8 with a 2 barrel carb. which would have been converted to a 4 barrel carb. and dual exhausts if I would have kept it! I own a 2015 Camaro now which was styled after the 1969 Camaro! Nice Caprice Classic you own! Cool! Does it have dual exhausts? 😎👍😍💓
Nice. Even has the rare Comfortron Air conditioning as well as a rear defogger. Nice options plus a 454. Love the 74’s specifically because of that belt line chrome from front to back.
Yes it had a comfortron but the AC never worked when I had it, tried messing with it a few times yeah the car has been gone for some years now it's definitely been a memory in my head
What a beauty, I am so envious. Wish I still had my 73 coupe, but the northeast winters consumed it many years ago. Mine had 245K miles and was still running strong on the original 400 small block and THM400 tranny. The running gear is rock solid and the car was very reliable. The only constant issue I had was bad "constant velocity joints" in the driveshaft, probably because I was a kid and beat on it. I did finally replace the water pump and timing chain at about 180K miles, but the engine and tranny were original other than that. I disabled all the pollution controls early on, which gave it a little more pep. The old girl passed everything but the gas pump. Can't think of anything else out of the ordinary that had to be replaced, except for the heater core. that was a big job. I can honestly say that if I was offered any car in showroom condition today, I would ask for that car, perhaps with the big block. I am very familiar with these cars, looking under your hood makes me feel like I'm "at home again". Lucky you, enjoy it. Don
Nice car!! just to let you know, i inherited my uncles 74 Caprice 4 door hardtop no post. medium green. Garaged all its life. i did a major thorough restoration original on it. these cars are now head turners and a lot of fun. just dashes restored the dash back to original. they are pricey but they are the best if you decide to do it. these cars drive like a dream. your very lucky to have one!! SmS AUTO FABRICS has all the original material for seats etc.... i drive mine to church! i will post a video on my car someday. love the video!!!
