My father bought a '74 Brougham new. I was about 7 then. I can still remember the "new car" smell. The 460 in that car had some issues; nylon timing sprocket teeth fractured and the float in the carb sank (or the needle leaked), a problem that went undiagnosed by Ford for ages. Resulted in leaving a trail of black soot (obvious on snowy mornings which tracks were my dad's!) and washing down the cylinder walls leading to wear and oil burning. I remember driving it when I got my license ca 1983 so it lasted a while (for a 1970s car anyway.) Still have a soft-spot for that car; wish I could drive it again for old time's sake. Thanks for the memories.

A triple-black Brougham served Steve McGarrett the last six seasons of Hawaii 5-O.

They cut diamonds in a Marquis as well. Then SNL spoofed it by performing a bris in the back seat.

Robert Lansing.....only 45 here......but looking a bit older----and sounding it. Too many cigarettes. He was only 66 when he died. And as for Jennifer O'Neil.....25 here. Pretty.....but not much of an actress. Model, yes. Actress, no. But....gotta say......what's up with her teeth? lol
