My sister had one identical to this one except it was black over burgundy/maroon - absolutely gorgeous car that later became my hand me down first car. It was one of a matching set of GM front drive luxury coupes in my family - my mom drove a 1973 butter cream colored Cadillac Eldorado. Ahhh, the wonderful middle class suburban lifestyle of my youth in the 70's!
I remember these when they were new. 1974 was the first year that fuel economy ratings were issued. The Toronado was rated the number 1 gas guzzler, even worse than the Eldorado. They were great cars but here in Wisconsin they rusted before the last payment was made. Still I loved them!
They’ve done something to the engine and mufflers. This is not how the Olds engine sounds nor exhaust system. It’s very smooth on the OEM Olds with that distinctive Olds engine noise.
