Ha, I had the same experience pulling the gear on the crank. I had puller on it pretty tight and it never budged. I gave it some heat with my propane torch and it let go, sending the puller and gear flying.

Dude, you should have kept the jug on that motor and both casing covers You know, the cover for the stater and fly wheel and the clutch cover should kept all that on it and took it to the car wash and pressure washed the shit out of it before you ever even touched a single bolt on the casings and jug....
