Here What Whitey Ford Said About Yogi Berra - I have heard all the Yogi stories and have been involved in some, But when I think of Yogi, I realize there is so much to him--he has a great family, He is so honest, And helps his friends any way he can. The only bad thing I can say about Yogi is he never bought me a beer!

If you only had Billy Martin in that commercial to remember the wild nights at the Copacabana.

The last thing Mickey Mantle needed was more beer choices.

You don't hear that Whitey Ford New York accent any more. It's gone extinct.

Wouldn't it be fun to see Miller Lite catch lightning in a bottle again and do a new generational series of these commercials?

Too many woke weenies in sports now for it to catch on.

I remember hearing about Yogi giving Mickey Mantle hell, talking about what he could have accomplished if he had concentrated on baseball.

Yogi understood about not wasting your life, he was at Normandy and drove the landing craft towards to beach where he dropped off the soldiers and watched them get mowed down and than he would go back and get another group with the same result. So it probably made him mad to watch Mick waste his life away drinking when many of our boys never even had a chance at living their lives.

It's kind of troubling to see Mantle doing a commercial like this.

My father said boy, could they drink they used to come in to the Eager house in Baltimore after the baseball games when they were playing the Orioles.

@JENDALL714 The reason you saw Mays as a Met and Aaron as a Brewer was because in part, both wanted to retire in the city that they began their careers...Mantle never would have left the Yankees no matter how long he played...But I agree, I am glad he retired when he did...But I am also glad that Willie got to end his career in New York.

I'm not a drinker. I do think most old-time Lite Beer From Miller commercials were pretty funny, though. However, Mickey Mantle's drinking problem was so bad that his sons didn't really know him. It shortened his career, and it shortened his life. In his waning years, Mickey did give up the drinking, and he tried a liver transplant, but by then it was too late. The damage was done, and he died at 63.

Did you know Whitey Ford & Bob Uecker look alike! So that's how fans buy Uecker a Miller Lite, but Bob is a rightie, white Whitey was a southpaw!

I hated seeing Mick in the 70's, bad hair and even worse clothes! I am kind of glad that he retired before playing into 1970's, he would have probably ended up an Expo in those bad 70's pull over jersey uniforms! I like to remember Mick as he was, clean cut with a crew cut hitting homers! It was bad enough we had to see Mays as a Met and Aaron as Brewer!

@@aspe7187 I know, I was there in the 70's it was awful! I used to wear a bright yellow polyester suit jacket with plaid pants.

Everybody had bad hair and bad clothes in the 70s--if they had hair. It could have been worse. Mickey might have had sideburns and a mustache, like Billy Martin.
