1975 Otis Elevators with Touch Sensitive Buttons - Ritz Carlton Chicago 

We had a major Otis manufacturing and design plant in my home Bloomington, In and they made these elevators for the Ritz and the Indiana University Library. They were the BEST!

However, they lasted so long! Otis is such a great elevator company and they build very nice, long lasting elevators

I think the rarest part of this setup were the touch sensitive call buttons, although those I think should be replaced in the name of fire safety.

Can you do a hotel room tour?

Yep these were all modernized with Otis Series M2. Gonna have to check out Congress Plaza like what Jeff mentioned while I'm out here Tuesday.

Amazing!! Even though they've now been modded, these lasted like 17 years longer than all the ones downstairs in Water Tower Place. I can remember being there in like 1999 and I was devastated that the glass and express cars had "lost their touch". I thought for sure these hotel shuttle and guestroom cars would go soon. I just accepted it. Big John next door, The Ren Cen in Detroit and Bonaventure in Los Angeles had recently been modded. The Board of Trade Bldg. up here is still hanging on for now but now has new owners... so... we'll see... I honestly don't know of any others still around in places I've actually been.

i stay quiet when filming at hotel where i am not a guest. what's on the floors below the lobby?

I'm guessing... "Otis Autotronic"?... Well obviously right?
